Meanwhile, I too have been wanting to read Salman Rushdie since my friend recommended him at least a year ago. Maybe by 2005 sometime we'll pick up a copy of The Satanic Verses to store on a bookshelf somewhere for another year or two.
You two really should read it, it's great. I even bought my mom a nice hardback copy this past Christmas, I saw it the other day and she's bookmarked around page 23.
