Listen to the "new wave of american metal" or metalcore. You hear Pantera in every band....and dont stop here. You hear pantera in a lot of modern hardcore bands too.
Like it or not, Pantera made breakdowns big
Pantera is awesome!!! The 3 first albums are great. And they play so tight that it sounds Protooled all the way (beat detective, slip edit gayness)
And i would say that 99% of all metal bands today couldn't record albums like that tracked to tape, with long takes perfectly executed!!
Those of you who weren't around in the 90s really missed out with these guys. They were great. Except Phil talked way too much on stage.
