Paradise Lost Cover

I'm not that thrilled with the artwork. I see it as a step back from previous efforts. It looks way to CG.
Have you seen the V cover?

I only ask because that has to be the worst example of a cg cover ever. I'm surprised they didn't have a prefab teapot in there. Conceptually of course it's quite cool. It just looks like vomit.

The PL cover is incredible. The Odyssey was also great, but probably too cheesey for most. Anyone with eyes will swoon upon seeing the PL cover.

Thanks for the PL photoshop, it is now gracing my desktop. By the way, is that a sloth?

I have and I don't think very highly of that either, but it's not as try-hard as PL.

Anyone with eyes will notice the cheesy sanskrit haphazardly dropped onto the rock with the clone tool, the cheesy chrome plating on the angel soldier not to mention the cliche fantasy battlefield scenario.

But since purchasing music these days is a much less tangible experience, many artists will invest less money/time/thought into artwork & design on their releases. It's just the way things are heading unfortunately.

Not at ALL true! From interviews and so forth, i'd say that the VAST, VAST majority of metal musicians (i cannot speak for other forms of music, nor do i care to be honest) fight for top quality packaging to give their fans the best product they can. I have no idea where you're getting this idea from.

Two tumbs up man! I don't care about the other style anyway. But as far as metal goes, we often have really great cover. Thank to the musician that don't allow cheap stuff!! And PL is one that really great. I don't know what the people that complain want as for cover art...do they know themselve???

Keep it. I've been doing pretty well for myself over the last 7 years working IN the music industry so I don't need such a prize.

I know, it's not all true, but while intentions and concepts are good, execution has been increasingly poor. Also having quantity in packaging doesn't always translate to quality or much thought. Anyway I won't say more about PL until I get a hard copy in my hands.

First of all, i didn't say quantity, i said quality. I think the quality of product is just as good, if not better, than it's always been. I do agree that there are a few rough points on the PL cover (that lettering on the rock and also the masks look horrible IMO), but that's how most artwork done on computers is these days.

Also,it'd help if you mentioned what you've done for 7 years in the music industry. I've technically been in the music industry for about 4 years, and i just write for a webzine and do nothing really that's of any consequence to impact anything anywhere. Please, fill us in so we know where you are coming from with this expert observation. I thank you in advance.

Despite the fact taht lol internet arguments, I do agree with Zach. I wouldn't mind knowing either where you're coming from with this.

I'm sorry Your Majesty, I didn't realize that I had forgotten, ONLY you are the expert of all things, and we meager peasants are but ignorant masses, unable to hold such high offices of intellect. I was unaware that I was deeply offending Your Royal Highness' coveted ego, and I assure you it will not happen again. You need not enquire into our affairs nor care about the trival lives of your subjects and their various occupations.

Hey, you're the one who made the initial smart arse comment without knowing "jack" yourself so I couldn't leave you in the dark like that could I kiddo? :)
You still never said what you do in the music industry.
