Paradise Lost Cover

...but that's how most artwork done on computers is these days.
Yeah, so when it's done pretty poory why can't it be discussed?

...Also,it'd help if you mentioned what you've done for 7 years in the music industry. I've technically been in the music industry for about 4 years, and i just write for a webzine and do nothing really that's of any consequence to impact anything anywhere. Please, fill us in so we know where you are coming from with this expert observation. I thank you in advance.
You're welcome in advance. Ive worked as a designer in an agency that had numerous music labels, I worked directly on those projects.

Inside the industry I do the same work for artists, promoters, studios and venues as well as market research, promotional, merchandise and advertising.

I'm sorry Your Majesty
Apology accepted :D

Name some labels and projects, O High One. You seem pretty confident that your asshole is better than everyone elses without even knowing your contemporaries. It is unwise to judge one's superiority in such a manner, and your condescending attitude is bad character. But enough ad hominim. Let's hear who you've worked for to back up your immense ego.

And of course, my original point is that I do not know how someone so "qualified" in the music business for "years" could hold such a base opinion as that it is becoming less tangible and covers are less important. Do you not realize why so many bands are releasing double albums these days, giving more bonus tracks, bonus dvds and interview sections, flashy artwork and unusual packaging? Because of course, if they didn't, people would NOT BUY it! They would simply download instead, legally or otherwise, and the print media would fade to obscurity as its predecessors did. So you see, now more than ever are the tangible components of music vital to CD sales.

Unless of course you're one of those e-music mp3 morons, but then, you wouldn't be as a designer, since that drastically reduces the field of work you are able to provide.

Name some labels and projects,
Sony BMG being the largest, Badfly being the smallest. projects include Big Day Out & Bluesfest festivals and releases/promos for local artists.

Well you fucked up big time with your first comment so this little whinge of yours was hardly unexpected.

It is unwise to judge one's superiority in such a manner, and your condescending attitude is bad character.
I find that very amusing coming from the forum junkie who made the smart arse "congratulations you've won the prize" comments to start with.

And even so, look at the latest nightwish deal... having cover art made for an internet only single. Shows that artwork is just as important, despite the avenue it is being released.

And i never said it couldn't be discussed. I said it's absolutely absurd to say that the cover art is getting increasingly poorer quality. I was simply saying that yes, there are some rough patches on the cover of PL, but the overall concept (and execution) is not ruined by a few minor details for me. Maybe you're less forgiving, but frankly I don't give a shit. That's all.

It's not that absurd when it's actually apparent.

Good for you, so on the same token you don't have a problem with someone who DOES give a shit expressing their viewpoints about those details?

 The Julz/Ken debate made for some great reading - The irony of ken's whole "I'm sorry Your Majesty" post was fucking laughable!

Oh and for the record kenny, The big day out isnt really "cute" or "little" its Australias biggest alternative music festival... :kickass:
