well yes, I can say that, because I don't have any choice, and neither does anyone else who works for a Fortune 1000 company

ask JayK

ask GeneralZod

ask Dark One (when he was working)

etc etc etc
ask anyone that does design/layout work, (do you think any publication anywhere uses PC's for layout or graphics? do you think any professional uses photoshop on pc?) ask almost anyone that does audio work

there is no rational reason all desktop work everywhere shouldn't be done on macs

i am not questioning how the real world situation is, i am just saying it needn't and shouldn't be this way in an ideal world

mac os x has terrible window management though, but windows is only marginally better in that regard and absolutely inferior in ALL other regards

Indeed, at least 80% of professional graphic design/video editing/high end shitz type places use Mac.

Personally I find Macs far more simplistic to navigate, so I don't understand why the majority of average computer users (who are mostly utterly stupid) haven't migrated to Macs, which would simplify their lives, a lot.

Yea it does seem like new computer users could more simply navigate the Mac OS. I think part of the reason why everyone still uses windows is because alot of people still think that no one uses macs, so why should they. Even with the giant Marketing campaign they started with the release of OSX alot of people still hold the opinion that macs = weird, evil company with scary balding excitable CEO.

I can't use a pre-OS X Mac to save my life... but OS X+ is a fucking doozie. It's all so fucking obvious and direct, you don't need to know shit about computers to find your way around.

unfortunately, once you DO know shit about computers all the gay shit just gets in the way

#1 reason why windows wins in the business world (and most of why windows sucks)... because it's compatible with fucking everything. Windows 95 shitty software can run on windows XP. Legacy hardware from 1988 can runon windows XP.

Big businness fellates for that kind of shit. Then they don't have to upgrade weird shit they've got going on if they don't have to.

I still find it a pleasure to use if you're just doing everyday leasurely stuff, like browsing the web, uploading/sorting/sharing photos, and even video editing. And probably the standard graphics suits too, but I've never used them on a mac.

through ruthless business tactics windows has become a virtual monopoly and its probably just through lethargy that nobody wants to spend the time and money looking into alternatives.

It would be a treat to work with stuff that doesn't comes out prematurely and doesn't require boatloads of service packs, patches, etc etc etc
absolutely 100% true

also windows is shit mostly because it tries too hard to support all old legacy shit

i mean you can still run programs written for the original 1981 ibm pc with ms-dos 1.0 on windows xp today! there is NO NEED to be carrying all that fucking baggage, apple has a good os because they know when to get rid of old junk

microsoft does this because they try to be all things to all people (i.e. if some company somewhere needs to run a "BUSINESS CRITICAL" ms-dos app from 1982 on windows xp they will cater to that) but as always they end up doing everything half-assedly instead of doing a few things well

I use a Mac and mainly began using it because I found the interface and overall operation of it to be far superior to the PC I was using. Most business' are on PC's probably because they're just more cost effective. As a student designer myself I personally don't see why the design world chooses Macs as I have tons of friends on PC's that are happy and able to run CS2.

Yet, for audio/video Mac's have the edge just because Final Cut Pro and After Effects are exclusive to it. However, if you get into the Animation world, Macs get crapped upon viciously.

It's all a matter of taste, both machines are capable of doing the same thing and both have a lot of power. Macs just cost a ton more.

Macs rule your PC using asses though :kickass:

I don't mind Macs, but I own a PC, so I probably should vote Mac.

Macs>PC for stupid ass people who all they want to do is d/l music and listen to music and make videos easily.

my "linux box" is a god damn pc :erk:
it also dual boots into windows 2000 so i can run cubase god damn SX

Windows 2000 *shudder*

I had Linux on this computer for a while ages ago, I can see its advantages but it was somewhat limiting too me. I quite happy with XP to be honest, and i think i have enough of a computer brain to nut my way around its quarks very easily.

Like i said before i just have this serious problem with Macs for some reason, call me ignorent hell i am.

One of the best video's evar!
Macs suck
