Pick 10 albums...

i like Garm on all Arcturus albums. the vocals on LMI fit the majestic twisted opera feeling of the music. Sham Mirrors is still excellent, but much less special than LMI. they droped the majesty and went into outerspace piano-land.

In no order...
1. Master of Puppets, Metallica (my sire)
2. Rust In Peace, Megadeth (my 2nd sire)
3. My Arms, Your Hearse, Opeth (1st Opeth cd I actually bought)
4. Horror Show, Iced Earth (1st IE cd I got)
5. Touched By The Crimson King, Demons & Wizards
6. This Godless Endeavor, Nevermore (First Nevermore cd)
7. Immortal, Pyramaze (I love Matt's voice in it)
8. Dreaming Neon Black, Nevermore
9. ...And Justice For All, Metallica
10. Nightfall In Middle Earth, Blind Guardian

I don't listen to verry many bands, just the same ones a shit load. And my computer with all my music is dead and my mind blanked.:zombie:

LMI is an amazing album to trip out to by the way. I love Vortex's vocals on Sideshow Symphonies and Sham Mirrors is brilliant as well. What a great band :kickass:

Exactly
Garm generally tried to have his vocals fit the style of the music, which is why he sounds pretty different from album to album. LMI was no exception

I just don't like him as much there.

I have to admit I only listen to the Simen songs on LMI though. Garm sounds fucking great on Painting My Horror though, much much better than Simen.

Can we at least agree Vintersorgs clean vocals are getting shittier and shittier?

Vintersorgs cleans were pretty good on Solens Rotter. I'd actually prefer it if that album if it remained mellow/acoustic and he did only cleans. He has a definite nasal quality which can be annoying, but usually I think he's pretty good. I still prefer Simen with Borknagar though.

I forgot to mention I liked them on Solens Rotter and Epic. Hell, even Origin. "But not Empiricism". We'll he's still one of my favorites, but he sounds like a Swedish pop singer now. :waah:

His voice used to be so manly and unique.

Nah, Of Sculptured Ivy... and The Knowing are far better. Actually, I like Amidst its Hallowed Mirth more, too. I'm just gonna go ahead and say that To Welcome The Fade is probably my least favorite ND album.

I love To Welcome the Fade minus a few areas in it.

Actually, their older stuff has been growing on me a lot lately. I was never able to get into it, but now it seems like I can't get enough.

slayer-reign in blood
death-human
bloodbath-wacken carnage
mayhem-grand declaration of war
zyklon-aeon
emperor-anthems to the welkin at dusk
meshuggah-obzen
belphegor-goatreich-fleshcult
ahab-call of the wretched sea
opeth-black water park

Have you heard the new Equilibrium Eric and Max? It's pretty good for a generic jolly folk album. Well actually, a lot of it wasn't generic at all. It's a really fresh sounding release regardless. Sagas.

The new Z-Ro on the other hand, holy shit good.
