Pod X3 clips - still think these amps are good

POD X3 vs the POD HD vs Axe fx clips!!


I've uploaded a vid on youtube of the same riff quadtracked and run through 5 different amps each time.

after hearing alot of clips of the Pod HD vs Axe fx I thought I'd still let folks know that the amps on the X3 are still superb.



Amps used are ....

Slo 100 ( Soldano)

Line 6 Agro

Bomber XTC ( Bogner Ecstasy)

Engl Powerball

Bogner Uberschall

No eq used at all - amp settings were similar - nothing crazy and no scooped mids.

Nope it's the POD's T75 cab - with FX boost in front

What mic model? The cab and mic seem to make the biggest difference with that stupid unit, I hate trying to tweak it... Wish I still had a POD 2.0, that thing sounded great and was effortless to dial in.

By itself it sounds good, but when you compare to, say axe fx, suddenly you know it's not good enough.

A lot of the tones sounds very lacking in mid/high-end. The ENGL sounds the best to me, personally.

hmm i hear ya, but , the Axe fx is sooo expensive and there are so many great tracks ive heard done with the POD,
im considering saving for an AXE FX but am currently getting a new guitar....arggh GAS!!!

Agreed.
All of them are usable IMO though.

I agree. I like them as is. Tweaked properly, they can all sound great.
