post pictures of your desk!

Tweeter at ear level is generally considered 'correct', but I tend to prefer my ears being at the midway point between the tweeter and cone. This way you get a bit of up/down movement with low/high balance, and that extra spatial imaging tends to help my association with how many highs and lows are in the mix. With the ears 'on' the tweeter, on the Opals at least, it sounds like the mix is coming from below and I don't dig it.

Ermz im curious to see what your setup it like. I gonna go through the pages now and check if you posted a pic

Oh wait, actually, Ermz is right, the proper level (and where I have mine) is ears between tweeter and woofer, and that's what the manual for my Tannoys recommended

The manual for the Adams says tweeter level but I do prefer to have my ears slightly below the tweeters. It feels more natural and full without sacrificing any of the imaging.

The manual for my previous monitors (Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2A suggested ears between tweeter and cone, as well.

Dude, that bastard is so funny. "It's a cup of dirt!"

Well explain it.

"Ugagh, well it's a cup with dirt in it, I call it cup or dirt. Just go ahead and put an F on there."

Brian Regan rules.

@Everybody - dude if you got the auralex "package" there shoudl be some slanted pads in your pack - just stack them so there is a downward slant and problem solved. :)

Oh yeaaaa haha, I have those Ill throw those on there and get them upright!

I gotta tell you tho...when I first set these up I listened to a vicious reforming by after the burial. the stereo imaging was HUGEEEEEEE! I dont how I listened to music before with my monitors so close !

Yeah man - at least 5 feet apart is the rule, or so I'm told. I have mine about that far and honestly, I listen to music on the recording PC more often than anywhere else in the house! :kickass:

I have the same stands as well, and found them to be too high - so, a little downward slant, and I was back in business.

yea i was suprised the lowest setting is actually relatively high.
and i think that they are about 5 feet apart, i tried using a ruler to measure lol, maybe ill break out the tape measurer today and make sure and all that jazz.

and also, i read 5ft apart, and you sitting 5ft back..would it be a better idea if your room sucks to sit closer like 3ft?

Forget constant measurements, it's all about the equilateral triangle d00dz
