I was never really into Deafheaven, but after listening to Sunbather again recently, it's grown on me. Any body have any recs for some similar stuff?

EDIT: Don't bother recommending Wolves in the Throne Room or Alcest (like MA does), I'm already a fan of them.

Altar of plagues (early stuff, latest is weird)
Fen
Lantlos

And not exactly black/post but try Les Discret's first album. It's dark, heavy post rock.

I'd also check out Woods of Ypres, Wolves In the Throne Room, and Agalloch too.

They're not strictly one genre or the other, but a combination of the two and several others.

Maybe you like some of these:

Lantlôs

Movimento d'Avanguardia Ermetico

Infinitas

Agrypnie

Freitod

Kratein

Fäulnis

Deafheaven, Lantlos, Panopticon and Altar of Plagues are the cream of the crop from what I've heard. A lot of stuff is pretty generic and predictable sounding.

You probably already know Panopticon but if not:

This band Vagrond is good, but I do find it kind of predictable.
