the top one is an old book of norse mythology that i got from a used bookstore in pittsburgh.

it's called "We Always Lie to Strangers" and it's a book of folklore from the Ozarks. there are honestly passages in the book like "A guest at a hotel in Appalachia overheard the bellboy say he'd heard about a woman in West Virginia who gave birth to a thirty pound baby" and it's used as a source.
 
I read so much and have so many favourite books I always find these threads such a test. Removing the classical corpus, I would say, if pushed, that Camus or Huxley are my favourite writers.

Thing is though, they are actually pretty good reads :rofl:

Anyway, I have some seriously old books too, here's a picture of the collection, they usually have an entire bookshelf to themselves but the room the shelves are in is getting extension work done, so we didn't want dust getting on them.
