post your awesome books!

Fantasy novels for people with working brains and broken moral compasses:
-A Song of Ice And Fire (pretty much the defining fantasy series of the 21st century. If you haven't read it you fail at speculative fiction.)
-The Lies of Locke Lamora (A bit of a Fritz Leiber homage with some downright brilliant characterization and hilarious prose.)
-The First Law trilogy (if George RR Martin of ASOIAF had written The Princess Bride, it would probably be like this.
-The Farseer Trilogy (a unique and surprisingly heart-wrenching trilogy about the rise and fall of a royal bastard turned assassin. A bit too recent to be a "classic" but it's getting there.)
-The Prince of Nothing (my current favorite - a sprawling epic combining Biblical, Mediterranean and Tolkienesque aesthetics into a brilliantly detailed world, in which the only thing offsetting the petty villainies and human failures of the religion-mad Dark Age humans is the bone-deep, utterly depraved evil of the ancient monstrosities lurking in the post-Apocalyptic ruins of the North. These books literally changed my perspective on daily life; some very heady psychological and philosophical stuff to be found within what is, at heart, a good fucking story about terrible fucking people.)
