well keep fucking rocking!!! I definatley would like to hear some more of that shit....some songs with vocals would rock too!
thanks! we're hoping to get a vocalist sometime in the near future... good ones are hard to find. I might have to sing if we can't find anyone.

Hey all. Here's a song I recorded last year while teaching a unit on the French Revolution at the High School where I used to work. I wouldn't really call it Opeth-like, but it's metal.

I got one of my students to do some guitar solos, and vocals on the chorus (his is the higher voice) and the opening scream. I'm doing all rhythm guitar, the harmonized solo at the end, bass, verse vox and deep chorus vox. No effects on the voice, btw (except the delay on the scream at the start). Just lots of tracks. I did all the drum programming on my digital recorder, so it's a bit limited compared to working with a live drummer.

Oh and no amps were used on this recording. All modeling. Ain't technology grand?

This has a more classic rock feel i guess. But see if you like it! I did this for the Guitarcenter competition, its recorded live.

Pretty excellent for a live recording and being 16 and all. Haven't heard whammy bar whinnies like that in a long time... Some interesting note choices, too.

Edit: Realized the "16 and all" thing sounds patronizing. I just mean that I only started to play at 16 and some 15 years later and I still can't shred.

Not sure if i posted this here already, but anyhoo...

A little overview of what we used...

Recorded using a cheap dynamic vocal mike using Adobe Audition, and drums using Fruity Loops =D

The amps were a 30 watt Roland GC-405 and my friend's 150 watt bass amp (played one of the guitars through it...actually sounds pretty good through a bass amp). Once again I apologise for the sloppy playing. 'twas a rushed recording and we were tired, heh.

Constructive crit would be muchly appreciated :)

^ Dude thats fucking awesome! it has a great atmosphere to it. I can totally hear the Opeth influence. You also seem to know all the right notes to hit...good stuff

hey check us out. one of our inspirations is opeth, with a twist of our own writing. One of the songs is of bad(ish) quailty but still quite listenable

Haha, thanks man. We have another original but we fucked it up in the studio, but I have a video of it live that I could possibly try and get onto audio. For now, I have a recording of me with the guitarist from that band but with a different drummer/rythym guitarist, that's a cover of Alice in Chains-Sunshine, with me on vocals and bass again. Hope you dig it, I'm more proud of the first one. If everybody likes what I"ve posted I'll get to recording some more stuff for you. Me and a friend have an Opeth-like song that we may get around to recording eventually :headbang:

http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=499940&T=7943 - Some long song that I made. Kind of Opeth-ish structure.

http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=531057&T=8375 - Just a heavy riff that's repeating. It's in 5/4 btw. :erk:

http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=531061&T=8122 - A mellow riff. Kind of pink floyd sounding. I like it. :Spin:

http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=543014&T=7975 - The beginning of a song that I might finish up.

It's all recorded line-in with crappy equipment by a bass player. :hotjump:
Good stuff it is.

Hey guys,
we are Distorted - a melodic doom/death metal band from Israel with oriental female vocals and male growls.
We bring to you a new release - the song REDEMPTION taken from our new album MEMORIAL that had been recorded in the cold Sweden.

you can download the song from our site: www.distortedband.com

and also check the new updates.

Enjoy!!! :headbang:

Being from Israel gets a big thumbs up in my book. Bein extremely attractive gets the other thumb up. Not that either of those things have anything to do with the music, cuz I havent listened to it yet.
