PP USA VII: Band #7 & #8 confirmed

Not for nothing, but shouldn't Vision Divine be a 4 and Mercenary a 2? The Olaf Thorsen factor alone (that is, his history with Labyrinth) makes VD higher than a 2.

Food for thought.
That's what I kind of thought as well, but I'm guessing that Glenn is now viewing the #2 #3 and #4 slot as pretty interchangable. I could be wrong?

I agree with you, even though I like Mercenary a lot better!! But yeah, I was really shocked when I saw Vision Divine at number 2.. I think they are the biggest band announced so far.. Maybe not Epica, but still! they are right up there!

I like both bands too........so I'm not a VD fan who is biased. 11 Dreams was great...but so was every VD album.

NOOICE!!!
Mercenary was killer!!
And another dose of kuul melodic power Spaghetti Metal

Who teh hell is the other Headliner other than Evergrey(especially one that hasn't been here, unless Glenn broke his bank and got ,man,i cant even think?
Maybe its Deamons abd wizzards?

Definitely not Demons and Wizards, Hansi will be touring with Blind Guardian in September. Another headliner could be Helloween or Gamma Ray, and consider myself soiled if either are chosen.

Oh and Glen, did you put a clause in the contract for VD that their singer cannot come out on stage with tiger striped pajamas(like the last time you had a band come over from Italy)
I liked Secret Spere's set,but Ramon was visually disturbing that night

Yep...you're right & I was pretty perturbed with that line up too. Especially after seeing the lackluster performances & thinking of the bands I'd rather be seeing. Swore I wouldn't go to another minimal talented show as that again.
Hey asshole...

Glenn, I hope you did the noble deed, and put it in Vision Divines contract that they MUST. MUST. MUST. Close thier set with their cover of Ah-ha's "Take on Me".

They have a "Take on Me" cover??? SWEET!!

Great choices for ProgPower 7 -yaaaaaaaaay :hotjump:

I love Vision Divine's guitar work, and the lead singer is very solid with a lot of emotion.

I had never listened to Mercenary before... but... I love it.

This is why I love Prog Power. I listen to Metal all the time, usually following 'influences' around, and monitoring forums... but here I find out about groups I'd never heard of. And I must say... Glenn has extremely sophisticated taste. He sees through the crap/repetitveness of a lot of ... emm higher profile groups.

Haven't heard VD, although I know someone who has it. Mercenary is good. I see what Glenn meant this year about a test of the fest's drawing power vs. that of the bands. That's not meant as a negative thing though, I'm sure I'll love it as usual. I'd be pleasantly surprised for a big headliner though, since it seems like some of the band costs are cheaper this year (ticket prices accounted for hotel room raises) - no Therion, Orphaned Land, etc. On the other side, I guess Therion and Strato were there anyway touring...now I'm just rambling...

I honestly don't think that it matters if I announce bands now or four weeks from now at this point in the festival's career. I just hope you folks help me get the word out when tickets do go on sale in April.

Mercenary & Vision Divine are confirmed.

Begging for solicitation of ticket sales...hmmm. Lack of faith in this years lineup? Seems to be.

Hi Ascension,

Let's see...I could delete your post and no one would ever know the wiser...or I could tell you to fuck off...

hmmm...

I'm going with the later....

Enjoy another fest.
