Preferred genre: prog or death?

Since Into Eternity combines the best of both worlds, I was wondering what music you guys preferred, prog metal/rock or death metal? Me personally, I'm definitely more into the death metal side of things, but I'm slowly getting into prog, although most of it is too tame for my tastes.

I usually listen to the heavier stuff, much as I love power and prog metal. Most of my favorite bands have down-tuned guitars and growling vocals.

I voted death...most of my favorite bands are more on the death side of things, rather than progressive. The only bands I listen to that I'd consider progessive are Ayreon, Devin Townsend Band, Ulver, Enslaved, Evergrey, Borknagar, maybe a few others. The majority of my collection is based in death.

I voted death, but i'm not a huge death fan, it depends. I love esp technical stuff but I can't always stand the growls for too long - usually not for a whole cd when they are monotonous (which they often are). Or when it's just going at 200mph without any time to breathe, ugh... I love a lot of prog too, but mostly the heavier bands. Since I in general like thrash/death more than melodic/prog I thought death would be the best choice for me for this poll

i like more death metal than prog, but when the prog is good, its better than the good death metal, but thats rare and i find myself liking MUCH more death metal than prog.

I like power and progressive metal far more than death. These guys combine the two genres perfectly though.

i would classify into eternity more as progressive power metal, but maybe thats just me..

I prefer prog metal I would say, but I also love technical and melodic death metal (suffocation or dark tranquillity)

Definately a hard choice to make. I've always loved prog bands as far back as I can remember. I also love Thrash/Death/Black Metal though too. I like IE because they combine alot of stuff I like into one sound.

honestly ive never had a harder time answering a question. i said death, but i have no real grounds for that answer.... thank g-d for bands like into eternity who use prog and metal in such a perfect balance.. so that i never really have to choose.

I chose death because Iam a death metal junkie. Ofcourse I do like progressive music, and progressive mixed with death is quite interesting to me as well. But, I would say that over all I listen to more death metal. I like a lot of music that mixes genres though, bands that you can't place into a single genre.
