Of the 8 songs, 6 are absolute masterpieces.

2 are not quite as good: "Failures Burden" and "Traitors Gate". Subtle flaws that do not require attention at this point because I've only listened to it a couple of times.

Either way, this album is fucking GOLD. :kickass:

I can't recall "Failures Burden" off the top of my head, but I distinctly recall loving "Traitors Gate". Of course, when measured against such absolute jaw dropping songs as "Empire Falls", "As Rome Burns" & "Heathen Tribes", it might change that perspective.

It's excellent upon my first 3 spin impression - can't wait to listen again.

Whaaa... people went off topic... whaaa... pussy.

I've yet to find a chance to truly listen to this disc with no distractions. From the few spins I've given it, without my full attnetion, I really like what I hear.

This is the album to put the band on the map. All they need to do is go on a European and North American tour with a band like Immortal and Destroyer 666 for no reason other than me wanting to see the three bands back-to-back.

In all seriousness though - I could go a lifetime without seeing another thread delving into the "downloading whole albums vs. samples vs. purchasing" discussions.

This is PRIMORDIAL!!!! *slap, slap, slap*

It's a rare occasion where the distractions are of secondary importance. Now sit down and ignore every priority in life other than this for an hour or two.

Dammit.

 @ Jeff and Ali.

Woops, here comes the derailing. :tickled:

Anyway, this album does show flashes of brilliance but seems to get "meh" at times. But I've only listened to it 2 full times so far. Like I said, its now on my mp3 player for devoted listening during cardio. Complete opinion pending.

LOL ... you fuckers ... more cowbell.

someone mentioned before there is one track that sounds like TOOL and i listened to it ... and it does indeed sound like TOOL :loco:

TOOL tours arenas = PRIMORDIAL can too :loco:

iirc Heathen Tribes is that song with the incredibly boring and redundant (by Primordial standards) beginning but it picks up later in the song... gonna dl the other half of this now so I can enjoy fully

this is the thread that will also make Primordial jump the shark ... I can feeeel it

That was me. Parts of As Rome Burns sound very Tool-esque. Doesn't bother me cuz Tool is one of my favs.

That said, that particular song is the best on the album. Astounding song.

Yeah, that mid part where it dies down then climaxes again into chanting and a scream. That part especially reminds me of The Grudge by Tool....just not as brilliant. :loco:

You could, but you won't.

Typically, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, I've got a ton of school work. And since these two classes cost me $6K out of pocket, Primordial will have to background music for another few days.
