I use NeatImage as well. Unfortunately, the Rebel XTi I use has a sensor that seems to love the shit out of creating noise even at 1600 iso. NeatImage is amazing, and I love it, but I have to kill lumi channel noise hard, which if I push it too far, will make the entire picture really really soft. It's tough to get a balance but it helps out. I'm figuring new techniques in Photoshop to cut back on backgroun noise (godlove the blur tool), but I'm sticking with NI for now. I was wondering what you folks use if anything, because I know, specifically Canon's 5D MK 2 sensor peforms pretty fucking amazing at even 3200 ISO with little or no noise, and wondering if the Nikons ya'll use were the same. I'm hoping the Canon 7D is going to perfom just as well. You're preaching to the choir about RAW vs JPEG though. I have done some AMAZING things with my Mindflow pics that would've been impossible with jpeg.
@ Pikatchus, thanks, I think you're going to love some of the stuff I've got coming.
