Progressive or Traditional?

So do you like bands that stick to their roots like AC/DC, or ones that develop and change throughout their career like Metallica?

I generally prefer ones that develop, although with some I miss "the good old days."

i said progressive, but that only depends on if the band still plays good music. if they start to play music that isnt as good, like Metallica or Megadeth, i would say traditional. if they change music but still sound awesome, like Testament, i would say progressive.

I agree, if progression is done right you'll never forget where you came from. So definately prog.

Progressive can be amazing when done right, look at Dream Theater, Rush, Liquid Tension Experiment and some Symphony X. Just sometimes you need to stick to what you know and kill anyone who tries to imitate you. A good blend of both is desirable.
