Pronounciation

Me and all my friends pronounce it "Boo" dom.

I have heard Alexi say it like Bottom and Boo dom both. (like at the end of silent night bodom night live)

Kinda sad my favorite band and I am still clueless on the correct pronounciation.

ive always said Bow-dum. but seriously, how many ways can one guy say the same word?
Bow-dum, boo-dum, baw-dum.
silly rabbit...

Are you thinking what I am thinking?

If you want to pronounce it in the usual 'americanized' way, the first reply on the thread is how to do it.

If you want to pronounce it and the band names the way they're really pronounced (In Finland):

boh-dohm (like in 'boy' for both parts)
ah-lek-see
yah-nnneh (extended 'n')
yah-skah
roh-peh (extended 'o', rolling 'r')
henk-kah (extended 'k')

The last week one guy saw me with my Tokyo Warhearts t-shirt and told me "Hey! Children of voo-doom, the're good". I was kind of... "Err... Ahuh. You know Children of VOO-DOOM? Ehm... cool...^^U"

@mag
You mean its not Yani?? damn...that would have been embarrasing :p

@missles
the best is when people dont bother to actually pay attention to the letters that make up the name "children of bodom." Ive been asked many a question on some band named Children of Sodom and what's wrong with me for promoting them by wearing their t-shirt. :lol:

American invasion here?? :Smug:

Its just BO-DOM!!! Not boo-dau, bow-du or whatever!
You american people don't know the pronounciation 'cos there's no sounds like these in your language.....

Exactly. The way they're saying it is just "Boh-dum" with an American accent to it.

It's bow-dum.

In Finland... it is pronounced boo-dum apparently because Alexi says bow-dum when saying the band name but when he announces song titles he still says boo-dum during the live shows.

I called them Children of "bah-dum" for the first year I listened to them because I didn't know about the Lake Bodom Iincident and I thought it was supposed to rhyme with Sodom.. but that's completely incorrect.

somepeople pronounce it "botton" cuz i guess its spelt like sodom and therefore pronounced the same way. ive heard that in Finn its pronounced "boo-dum" and in swedish its pronounced "bow-dum"(like bow and arrow). Apparently the word "bodom" is originally a swedish word so therefore i pronounce it "bow-dum"
