Punching bag. 60, 70 or 100 lbs?

I just used the one at a friends house and at my old school, 100lbs,
not sure about the material, tried a 60 and 70lbs one, felt a bit light and not "real" to me.

Get one half of your bodyweight; that's the rccommended for fitness type workouts.

I use one regularly and mines a bit over 100 because its a fill your own kind. The best material in my view is a material called nevatear. Everlast makes em pretty well.

Don't forget decent bag gloves.

100lbs is good if you want a workout. And when you get past the middle of the bag where the material is harder, definately don't try to "beat it" to soften, it will destroy your wrists and forearms.

Bag gloves are good, actual boxing gloves are better. It will work your respitory system alot better because of the weight and the fact you have to keep your hands up.

Are bag gloves just thinner than boxing?

Yeah. TRUE Boxing gloves come in different ounces, but the lowest they generally go is 8oz. They make training gloves that are basically a similar glove that can be from 4-16oz

True Bag gloves are closer to like 4oz maybe less, they're basically a leather mitten.

I use both, it's true heavier gloves will give you more power, but smaller gloves will condition your hands.
