As long there are people that say screw you we are doing it our way (DIY) then punk will live.
Also don't think Punk is a sound it is an ideal more than a sound.
Take the Misfits, the Clash and the Sex Pistols - neither really sounded alike but all 3 were punk. The last Loretta Lynn cd in my opinion is one of the best punk cds put out in a while and Loretty Lynn is considered "country".
