Question about Metal

I like epic and dark music, that's the reason i like metal ( most of times black metal ) ... But i'm not into raw black metal ( although i think Burzum is pretty good, their music is so dark... ).

Metal is music, not a "soundproduct" as the most pop, techno or Rap are and Metal is dark, not that kind of "Oh yeah, the world is great and beautiful and everybody is doing well"-music.

The will to power that drives metal is attractive to me. Likewise, metal's willingness to go right to the emotional precipice and reach into the abyss to embrace the maelstrom draws me. Metal has accepted a worldview devoid of sentimentality and the limits of empty moralism, again, attractive to one of my tastes.

In other news, HEIL CHERYL!

emotive metal? that's such a rare thing to find.

Not really, unless you're one of those people who confuses "emotive" with "sappy sentimentality."

I like the emotional qualities of metal and the way it can make pictures in your mind just because of music. I prefer the dark atmosphere and great musicianship. They are doing what they love, not getting tons of money.

just don't tell me you consider Opeth to be "deep, poetic and emotive".

I used to defend metal from this issue as well, but I just can't anymore. metal can be creative, diverse, artistic to an extent, but definitely not good at showing rmotional profoundity.

Emotion of course. But the biggest thing for me is epicness, and atmosphere, which like Winter Storm said is most evident in black metal. How I can just lay in bed and listen to the music, and be fully entertained and taken to another world, metal is an experience.
