Well the actual term for the convention of documentary making he applies is the Performative mode, But he tries to disguise it in Expository cliches, although to an average cinema going audience the expository mode is the most common they'll be used to from tv shows and such which simply present information, this becomes the reason why Michael Moore adapts his hybrid of modes, he's persuading people with his leftist propaganda by using the medium of documentary and combination of modes to make his approach seem totally factual. I think he takes things too far, but I'm glad he exists. Be better if everyone was like him but maybe not so extremely left... I dunno...
