do you think that given the power to do anything you would use it (meaning -abuse it in a very nasty way)? Or to put it differently - what do you think about Milgrams tests (tests based on giving people in other room electroshocks (as if) for a wrong answer after being told by an authority that it doesnt really harm them and you can do it)?
a: all in all, i probably would hate being in the position. i know i'd be absolutely estatic at the idea of being able to do that, but i also have too many moral qualms and in the end i would not enjoy the experience. it's all about hangovers when one drinks too much, life is.
A: Well I don't think Milgram really did unturn a hidden darker side to man with those tests, as a few of the people being prompted to shock wouldn't do it, even when prompted fairly agressively. It's an awkward situation when you're being paid to carry out a service and then it turns into a service you don't want to carry out but you're in the middle of it anyway. Overall no, if I had the power I would not abuse it, but in that test I would have probably continued on shocking people, and felt really really guilty, but obliged.
A2: (Oops)... Agree.
Q: If you woke up after falling asleep in a field to find a really vicious, evil man trying to force his cock down your throat (rape you), but you manage knock him out after some tusseling and have wrestled his riffle from him , would you shoot the man to finish him off for good? think about how disgusted you would be on top of everything else.
