Question for you veteran DT fans

Siren: rahvin once said (quite enigmatically) something like "some [fans / forum members] know [the meaning] but can't tell". I take it he was referring to himself (other than Diana, who else could be higher on DT's friends list than rahvin?).

@Cuthalion : As far as I know, some immortal weirdo wearing yellow boots and dancing all day long in the forest with his singing chubby wife could hardly have anything to do with the Witch King of Angmar. Then again, some people do suffer from split personnality....

Anyways, my theory is that when Tolkien invented Bombadìl, he was high on something new and he didn't realise what he did until the book got published.

Who knows. Maybe it represents some obscure Swedish beer that is only brewed once every three years, during a blue moon eclipse?

scaleo: He doesn't appear in the film. In the first book he saves Frodo et al. from the trees in [insert forest name which i have forgotten here].
Ahh! thanks :)

don't over-analyze this. there's no cool kids club meeting on thursday nights keeping secrets from the not-so-cool kids. if words about this topic (or any other where there's no public statement) were exchanged, it was because a conversation is a conversation is a conversation. no friendship pass was waved frantically during such conversations, no oath of secrecy sworn.
my comment only meant to confirm that no official stance on this subject is imminent. speculation and investigation and imagination and other happy words with a similar ending are welcome because they're entertaining.

Because i have my own inside information which make me believe it is ignorance indeed. :p

Or i'm just a psychic.
