I'm not saying that Bathory doesn't deserve a tribute. It has nothing to do with that (however this is a question of opinion, not fact).
But please remember that even though some homepage or person says something, it does not make it a fact.
Every story has two sides.
Blackmoon of Hellspawn said that they paid Black Mark 9000 dollars,
but they still tried to sue for the use of the goat-head. The goat-head however, was taken from a comic-book (by Bathory, without permission?) and therefore there could be no copy-right by them.
However he agrees that things were settled out of court (did Black Mark have a case?)
I'm not saying that Blackmoon tells the truth and Qourthon has lied, cause I don't know more about it than anyone else. But on the homepage Qourthon tells how all the journalists and people have twisted his words so that it would seem like he didn't like the old albums, and this enraged the fans.
Maybe there is a possibility that:
1. Qourthon made negative comments about his old work.
2. Therefore didn't appreciate the tribute (satanic bands, old stuff).
3. Later altered his views, when the fans became upset about his statements.
I don't know, it's clearly a case of either Black Mark/qourthon or everyone else lying, but I can't tell which. Probably somewhere in between.
But I don't think you can just pull out one side of the matter and call it fact.
However it seems like Qourthon, at least later, has had a positive opinion about tributes involving the old Bathory songs (and new satanic bands). So thats nice.
