We've now officially lost another legend of Metal.

Recently confirmed by his wife Wendy:

Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

I still rate that Heaven & Hell show in 07 as one the most faultless shows I've seen.

I was blown away by the professionalism in that performance. The sound was just faultless, as you say. And i agree with Mitch, I'm so glad I got to see him. There's a bond between me and a couple of mates now that no-one can take away; we saw Dio.

Definately the world has lost one of if not the greatest singers the world has seen. I also consider it an honour that i got to see him @ the H&H tour. RIP RJD

I also had the pleasure of seeing his solo set at Wacken 2004. Amazing performance that still seems fresh in my mind.
He really was an incredible voice for Metal and an icon in the history of our music that can never be replaced.
