I also went hiking this weekend with the guys in my band and their wives, in one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Hoh Rain Forest (yes, I know... funny name) in the Olympic Mountains of Washington State!
We started out Friday night at our property, which is on the Eastern side of the Olympic Mountains. Then Saturday morning we drove to the Western side, home of the Rain Forest. We camped there Saturday night in a campground.
Our property:
This guy is a 12 year old Giant Sequoiah tree that I got when I was 14 years old. It was in a little tiny tube and we brought it to our property and planted it. This is him today!
This guy is a trademark of the Pacific Northwest. I'm not sure how many of his brothers and sisters faced an untimely demise under the soles of our boots Friday night when the sun went down. It was like a small holocaust for the little guys.
Nice flower:
Lake Crescent is on the way to the rain forest. There are landlocked salmon in this lake.
Our home for Saturday night!
This tree was in our campsite. She takes a good picture!
The deer literally roamed freely through the campsite! This was a mother with 2 six-week old baby fawns.
I didn't drink any of the Corona (I had Coors Light!!!) but that bottle of Crown Royal fit in my belly perfectly!
