Rammstein live rig...only 6 rectifiers in a rack

How do you get to the point where you have four heads for personal monitoring and go "You know.. this just ain't cuttin' it anymore" and take yourself seriously?

4 cabs on stage behind him. Each one has a head powering it. That's just for the feel of the guitars sound. 1 head is a backup. 1 head is running the offstage cabinet that is being sent to the FOH and Monitor world. Not all that ridiculous. I guess he could link the full stacks and just run 2 heads instead of the 4 for the onstage cabs.

BTW. It's 8 amps, not six :)53)-- one spare and one for FOH. So it's 6 for stage. I'm sorry but that's just ego stuff-- especially if you consider that he'd also be running wedges and/or ears plus sidefills. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome but it's totally unnecessary. By comparison, Nickelback is all dummy cabs on stage. (They do travel with a similar number of amps but they are different amps all set differently and all feeding iso-cabs).

Ugh, for a second there I almost respected Nickelback more than Rammstein. Now I feel all dirty.

Seriously, though, this was a cool video - thanks for posting :).

This is just Richard's Rig ??:guh::OMG:
So Paul has probably another Rig just like this???
Sick, but i think it's totally unnecessary too :Smug:

There are at least 9 Rectifiers in that rig. 6 on the right side of the rack and at least 3 (could be another 6 piece case though) on the left side...

Dude, Chad is switched on as fuck about music, the industry, business in general, recording, production etc. etc. He seems like one of those musicians who will actually sit there and think about the bigger picture, so the iso-cab thing and dummy cabs on stage doesn't surprise me at all. Give the fans the huge 'rockstar' thing they want to see, while feeding the smaller rig that will actually provide the best FOH sound. I've gained a huge amount of respect for Nickelback lately, mostly because he just knows how to play people, milk the system, write the hit that everyone wants to hear, whilst also putting some hard rock tracks on the same records. It's much more insight than I've seen in just about any metal band.

As far as the video goes, I can respect the desire to put on a good live show, but there is a point where you hit overkill and realize an Axe-FX could probably do it all much more efficiently, and nobody out there would tell the difference.

Yeah everything Rammstein does HAS to be over the top. I read a interview with RZK in a german metal merchandising catalogue where he described the recordings for the new album and I was like -.-

He said, that they´ve searched all over the world for the right studio, because there are almost no studios in the world that match their high standards + they need a lot of rooms for their complete staff and their cook etc etc...

When you sound as generic and cruddy as Rammstein, you need something to impress the crowd! No wonder they go ape-shit with the visuals... first few albums were good enough. But then they went all fucking gay.

he's just sold like 6 triple and 6 dual rect (3ch heads) on ebay as well...I bet he owns at least 50 rectifiers of some sort.
I'm sure you all have seen the 5 blackface racktifiers in their live rig?
if not picture-google "rammstein racktifier"
total amp boner

but tbh I've always hated that band NOTHING interesting about the music or the lyrics...just simple and stupid.
how can anyone who understands what Rammstein are singing about take the band seriously?
I admit, the live show is the best you'll probably ever see.

Nobody gives a shit about Rammstein's live sound. They played here on Sonisphere Festival this year and after the show, everyone in the audience is talking about fire, flames, burning stunts, giant cocks that ejaculate paper cums, pyros, more cocks, explosions, plastic cocks and more gay stuff like that. So why so serious on the sound? Keyboards, samples, drum samples, digital effects and when it comes to guitars, suddenly you go "ooh I need a fat analog sound". Come on man, give me break! Just sell those amps and buy more cocks which throw flames from the dickholes. Nobody gave a shit then, nobody's giving a single shit now.
