I have a question depending on the Battery2 drumsampler.

Recently I recordet some drumsamples from my drummers tama.
I recorded a bunch of HiHat hits so I can change between them to get it more natural.
There is no problem to load the samples into battery, but I can´t manage them to play randomly :erk: I studied the handbook, but maybe I was looking for the wrong keyword, or my english is even worse :heh:

does anybody know how to play samples randomly in one battory cell?

You can play with the velocity levels. You can trigger different samples in a cell by adjusting the velocity triggering levels in the cell properties. Then when you set a note velocity below the trigger level, Battery plays that sample instead.

For example, velocities 120-127 might have snare-hard.wav, velocities 115-119 snare-normal1.wav, velocities 110-114 snare-normal2.wav, velocities 105-109 snare-normal3.wav, and so on..

Unfortunately it doesn't have the Humanize button like DFH/EZD has, so you'll have to do it manually.

thanks for this trick ;) But it took me some time to discover that the velocity modulation should be also turned off that this kind of randomizing works well :D

Look into the round robin function, available under Cell Activation. With this, you can program a cell to cycle through several hits, just like DFH Superior. It's tedious to program, but if you have your own samples, you can have a group of soft, med, and loud hits with velocity switching in one cell, and then alternate hits (soft, med and loud, velocity switched) in another 5 cells, and that way you will have 5 possible cycles before repeating a sample (using Round Robin). It's a fun experiment- but Drumagog makes this all a much easier process, so you may want to end up with that. Good luck!
