Preliminary results, I honestly haven't heard some of these bands enough to fully judge them, yet I will anyway.

Out of curiosity, where would you fellows have put Slayer? I figured they'd roll over everyone else, but then again, I'm not so sure. They'd be at the top of my thrash list.

i like immortal, i like immortal a lot, but when it all comes down the line (AND THE LINES THEY TURN TO GREEEEEEEEED!) they're just not in the top of the norwegian bands. being in the top of the norwegian bands is TOUGH

Jormungand and the demo are really FUCKING good, though, I'll give 'em that, but they aren't transcendent, like the best works from the early norwegians.

death is so fucking overrated. and megadeth is barely thrash because they are the only band on there that I like/can listen to.

Rust in Peace is the best album in that 'thrash' category.

Nightside Eclipse is the best album in that 'black' category.

Individual Thought Patterns is the best album in the 'death' category.

Rust in Peace is the best album from ANY of those bands.

I'm stating the obvious, I know.

You're mixing up the genres. Chuck is in 'death', and Mustaine was in 'thrash'.

Otherwise, you could say:

[anyone else in any of those bands] isn't fit to wear Chuck's jockstrap....BUT I'll tell you this, Mustaine is probably second, and MOST CERTAINLY leaps and bounds above James Hetfield (for example) as rhythm/lead guitar goes, and that's a scientific fact.
