DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP

I HAVE been buying Kerrang! since the very first issue and i'm sure that
there are some of you folks who were possibly not even born at the time - no
disrespect intended.
Back in those days it was the only magazine that supported and promoted rock
and metal. Back then no distinction was given between 'old or new' bands, or
any other category under which a band or bands would be slagged off or
sniggered about. Unfortunately though, these days it is a very different
picture. For example, last year there wasn't a review of Lynyrd Skynrd's only
Uk date ( the first in many years), neither a review of Monster Magnet's
headline show at the Astoria, just a slating of COC's exellent LP 'America's
Volume dealer', and now, to begin 2001 a laughable review of the Dirty
Deeds/Iron Maiden gig by Dave Everley(K! 836).
It would be wise if you got your facts right before completely slating a band
with your vindictive pen. Can you honestly name a single rock or metal band
on the planet today that in some way or other displays no cliches in terms of
their shows, lyrical content, or how they behave in the public or media eye?
I laughed when I read the 'review' but, at the same time it saddened me that
Kerrang! has now sank to the level of slating the music that it originally
sought to promote and support.

Muttley

For a few years now KERRANG! has failed to live up to it's own high standards (as a decent music mag) of old.
It seems that nowadays if it ain't a new FAD then it ain't in KERRANG.
Perhaps they should go back to the "Sounds" days?
Anyway, glad to see Blaze definitely confirmed...should be good.

A glorified pamphlet.

I wonder if the 'Muttley' mentioned is the same frontman from the Macc Lads? He was always an opinionated bastard so it could have been I suppose.

Anti Nowhere League for Bloodstock!!!!!!

British metal is just not trendy enough. Notice that bands like occupational hazard get voted by readers as one of the top unsigned uk metla bands and yet get very little actual mag coverage.

bollocks.

I'm a firm beleiver magazines should go online and forget the weekly written format..

Tyr rockers return.com (www.rockersreturn.com)
