I was thinking the same thing, but then on the tape he mentioned "the ritual"...and that's where I wondered about the possession. I just don't understand how it was "the scariest ending EVARRR", as people are hailing it.
As a film, the premise was genius and the delivery was excellent. It was extremely realistic and the acting was fucking outstanding. I just found it extremely predictable...every single scene was so obvious to me. The chick spitting in her mother's face, the health inspector smashing through the gate to get the guy from behind...you could see the camera getting into position to get the shot and you could predict exactly when it would happen.
I didn't like that the ending just kinda dumped everything in your lap in one minute and then Gumby jumps out with a hammer.
