Recabinet Complete 2.0 - Fall Sale 80% Off!!!

You don't have to answer if you don't want to, I'm just asking this out of curiocity... You have to sell like 4-5 units at 14.99 to get the same amount as with the original price of 69.99, but has this discount been more profitable to sell?

I mean as you sell "ones and zeroes", it basically costs you "nothing" (of course there is the payment for the server etc...), but if you sell 100 copies at 14.99, you make 1499, but if you sell 10 copies at 69.99 in the same time, you only make 699.90

I imagine like many startups, you have to make an estimation of what you think your product is worth and what it may sell for to your perceived customer base. But unlike many other products - say a VST plugin or VSTi, Kazrog had little to draw upon because correct me if I'm wrong, but cabinet impulse libraries (packaged up for a price) were and really still are a rarity, so what do you base your pricing upon.

I'm guessing with this current pricing and the buzz it seems to have generated given the response in this thread alone is demonstrating what many are willing to pay for such libraries. Would many have the people in this thread have paid the full price? I see many familiar faces that have known of this product for quite some time choosing this opportunity to purchase it now. If the response is similar on other forums where Kazrog posted the sale, then I imagine it is a success, and perhaps telling as to what the real value of a product is.

I have no idea as I'm not in the business of selling anything, but it's just an observation - seems as you noted in another thread, manufacturers seem to be droping the price of many items given the economy, but given the numbers many of these "sales" and "group buy" opportunites are garnering, maybe it's a good idea in the long run to offer things like this.

Jind - I think you've hit upon any possible way I could have answered the question. I really have nothing else to add; we were inspired by some similar recent "no brainer" offers by other audio software companies, and figured it would be a cool thing to do. Thanks!

I had problems unzipping the file, do what it says at the e-mail.

the only problem is how much shane has paid to rent all that gear to make the impulses.
You gotta take back all the money you invested in a way or another ;)

Good post,
I was contemplating this very topic today,

I'll come straight out with it, i had been vaguely interested in ReCabinet since it was released, but was very reluctant to pay the full price.

thats not a dig at Kazrog's work,
the product is great but on minimum wage, impulse libraries are simply not at the top of my software shopping list.

im very glad i bought it now though :)

I can now forfeit the rest of my life to blending these impulses, and I'll probably never find the best combination. So many tasty combinations...

Yeah... there are a variety of different expenses, that just being one among many, not to mention ongoing development, hosting, support, the list goes on. This is a job for me, just as much as music production is, and I take it very seriously.

I very much appreciate all the feedback and support you guys have given me from day one. Thanks in large part to you guys on this forum, Recabinet will continue to grow into a better product line over time.

I could absolutely not resist this offer. I have a huge collection of impulses, and always seemed to end up using the recabinet demo impulses cause I felt they sounded the best. The full version rocks. I am actually surprised at how wonderful it is to slim down my crap impulses and now only having recabinet ones. You just made my impulse file very happy. :kickass:

Cheers,
George.

Alright, just finished the first in a series of Recabinet tutorial videos. This one focuses on multi-mic IR blending:

Looks/sounds best in HD.
