Reccomend me some death metal

I won't lie - Atheist is a bit of an acquired taste. Once you get past the 80's-ness of it, it's actually pretty good stuff. Kinda like Cynic, you hate the robot vocals the first few listens, but the rest of the music is so good that you can get used to it.

Just remembered Blotted Science. Ron Jarzombek, Alex Webster, and Charlie Zeleny; it's like Behold the Spastic Corpse. Definitely worth a listen.

I dunno if this is really up your alley, but Mucopus is a band from around here that's done a few European tours...great bass player plus the singer of Skinless, kinda slammy sort of stuff.

Martyr (very technical and jazzy, but the vocals are kind of weird)
Gorod
Trepalium (technical and groovy)
Omnium Gatherum (intelligent, technical, melodic, and progressive)
Illogisist (somewhat melodic, odd time signatures)
Spawn of Possession
Decrepit Birth

Death, Vader, Behemoth, Arch Enemy, Arsis, Carcass, Strapping Young Lad, Scar Symmetry.
