Red Baron/Blue Max

I like when Ripper goes "The ace of aceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!" Thats awesome :headbang:

Going on the sample of a few months back, it fuckin rules. Sounds like the whole song's good then! :headbang: What's the album like overall?

If you liked Iced Earth before, you will like TGB, just depends on how MUCH you will like it :) I like it, but dont think its that great, it definitely has its moments though :headbang: Its worth buying anyway, even though I havent bought it yet and just have it on MP3, ill buy it next time I go to the cd store though :headbang:

I think the album is solid overall. There is only one song I don't like (When The Eagle Cries), and one mediocre one (Hollow Man) which is still good, and the rest is good to awesome. I think Gettysburg is fan-bloody-tastic, and one of the best things the band has done. Right up there with Dante's Inferno and The Phantom Opera Ghost.

I think Owens sounds great also. At first I was VERY skeptical, and all 'bring back Barlow', but I think Ripper's voice REALLY fits the music, better than I ever imagined. On some songs, like The Reckoning and Red Baron, he sounds incredible, and he does a fantastic job on Gettysburg. As much as I love Matt's vocals (he is incredible on Burnt Offerings), I don't think he could have done TGB any better than Ripper.

As Spawn said, if you like older Iced Earth, you will probably like it to some degree, but I also think you can like it without liking older Iced Earth as well.

How many times do I have to tell you Blitzy, Hollow Man SUCKS! Not as much as that stupid Eagle song, but its still crap!

I cant see someone who didnt like IE before liking TGB :)

Layering crap vocals doesn't make them any less crap..

Matt rules on Something Wicked. He's awesome on Burnt Offerings too. But on Horror Show (and according to John, The Glorious Burden) he was poor.
