Hi there y'all,

I'm new here too, but read your thread with so much interest that I just had to put in a few lines too! I've known OL since Sahara was released and came to Turkey to see them play - actually, we came to surprise the Epica guys& girls since we follow them round ( they're a dutch gothic-epic metal band who performed on friday)- Again, the staging of OL was an extra excuse for me to go to Turkey.
Nathalie ( or Morticia, which ever you prefer)
welcome in Nathalie. As i remember you're the blond girl who came to Caravan with a guy? And im the girl who has a red hair and was talking to Eden in Caravan.good 2 see ya here! :headbang:

He Folklore> yep, I remember now! Ha ha, who ever said that the world is a big place must have been mistaken. How funny that we meet again up here. So, we got back to the festival on saturday, mainly because I bumped in to some OL guys and their friends hanging round the town. So we end up spending the afternoon& evening with them. :)

Derya> yes, I'm the blond, but don't hold that against me because I was born a blond. Can't help it sorry.
Hi hi, Eden was pretty drunk I think. He let me win the debate. :Spin:

Marco> I agree. It's a shame that everyone knows about Gorefest ( check "Eindhoven insanity"a great live album of their 93 Dynamo performance- and yesss I was there) Within Temptation, the Gathering, After Forever and Epica but do not know the Wounded. They're a great band who deserve a lot more covering than they get.
I don't know whether that has anything to do with the label. Let's just spread the word via internet and they might get some new fans. Music wise you should think of the Cure, Anathema, the Cult and old wave music/ doomy stuff , but it can hardly be described, one must hear it to be believed!

Darkest greetings,
Morticia.

Shame on me!!! :ill: I forgot to mention Orphanage- if you like a very good grunt you should listen to this band. George ( the singer) has the best one I ever heard. (i.e. grunting voice)
You can hear him on an old Within Temptation track too ( first album)
And here I go again, lecturing on the dutch metalscene. You must tell me when you get bored with me.
And if you've got any tips on great unknown bands from your own region> I'd really like to hear about them.

Morticia.

hej Morticia! i could not agree more on the description you gave about THE WOUNDED, i recommended them way back here on the forum, but got no response! there is some quality in the dutch scene!! ha! (i am dutch too!)

Gorefest.... arent they going to have a reunion or something? And orphanage.... whaa, thats really cool, check the picture topic..... my old old old orphanage shirt! i cherish is so much!

Morticia.

The reunion of the Greek act titled "Funeral Revolt" it's sure to be the promising and future attack of the Greek metal scene!!! :headbang: A mix of industrial, gothic, death metal. Their first release is on it's way...keep your ears and eyes open at www.funeralrevolt.com ;) (still under constraction but soon it will be open). :)

Heee R> lachen dat je dat nu zegt, ik heb al bij de andere thread gepost!
translation> lol! I just posted a comment on your Orphanage shirt in the photo topic.

And it's the shirt from Oblivion wich album I lovvvvvvvvvvvvve to pieces. Yep, the Wounded, they're great. I liked them ever since they did the cover of smalltown boy. Have you seen their shows of late- or do I get it right and are you currently not living in NL.? Anyway, their live shows are even better than before. They've really progressed and can put all the emotions of the songs right into place when they're performing.
So tell me something about yourself, your obviously interested in more than the standard metal stuff.....other wise> how would you end up here?

Groetjes,
Nathalie

indeedidoo, i am living in sweden, Stockholm to be precise, i work there and have a lot of fun. Sweden is a beautiful country! i have lived here now for about 3 years, so unfortunately because of that i have not see THE WOUNDED perform live. however i interviewed MARCO for the dutch website www.zwaremetalen.com at which i work as a reviewer. originally i come from a little town called BALKBRUG in the east of holland but i most recently lived in LEIDEN.

if i am interested in more than the standard stuf... he he always!!! i am always looking for things that are peculiar but well done. i like exploring the edges of metal. but not only metal. lounge, jazz, indie and much more belong to my interests.

oh and Orphanage Oblivion was my first album i bought which had grunts on them! saw them live at Dynamo 96! amazing!!!

leuk om niet meer de enigste nederlander te zijn hier!

groet Rutger
