...I dont really want to choose.They've both had different positive impacts on the band but overall Im gonna go Roope, very underrated guitar player,great guy to the fans too..

This thread is stupid, and has been done many times before.
That said, Alexander held the band back. Alexi had to write parts that he could actually play, which he doesn't have to worry about with Roope. Also, the fact that Alexander doesn't even make noteworthy music on his own (which Roope always has) certainly says something.

you guys are fools. IMO alexander was definitely more than partially responsible for the wonderful classic neoclassical bodom sound... SW, HB, FTR, and, to a lesser extent HCDR... notice that HCDR is the last one that has even touches of that neoclassical goodness. Bodom lost direction when he left... fuck his playing ability; what i'm talking about is the way the interpersonal relationships in the band worked. If you don't know what i'm talking about, don't reply, because you've clearly never been in a band. and if you have, and you still disagree, your band sucks.
Alexi wrote 99% of the music when Alexander was in the band. Alexi writes the riffs then presents them to the band.

Dave is right. Except for Bed of Razors, Alexander really didn't write anything. Alexi has always written pretty much all of the guitar, and even some of the other instrument parts.
And as far as interpersonal relationships, it has also really always just been Alexi in terms of the band's direction. How can you say Alexander was an influence for neoclassical when any of the (few) things he's done after leaving Bodom are anything but? He's basically played hard rock.

He cowrote it with Alexi and Ale. Alexander cowrote lil bloodred..too if I remember right..

it's not about what he wrote, you tards.. that's the point i was trying to make entirely, it's about how his presence IN the BAND INFLUENCED Alexi and what HE wrote! Christ you guys are FUCKING morons.
plus, the new nekrogoblikon album is going destroy your soul, "OvSeth," and if you can't cope with that you should just go right on back to sucking dick.
oh, and not to mention, i know all the bodom back history, because i nerded out on that shit for about 4 years of my life. they're still wonderful, they'll just never recapture the magic they had back when alexi was suicidal enough to write music with such amazing emotional content.

I agree with this.Roope is so much better
Not only as a player, but as a contributor to the band as well. IIRC Alexander only helped with bed of razors, whereas roope helps alexi write a bunch of stuff and even does solos. Also he writes full songs for sinergy
but I totally understand where this is coming from.
