say something about ... yourself!

Paulaner (the brewery that makes the official Oktoberfest Beer) has one called Salvator. A nice high alc beer (its got 7.8%) with a very strong and enjoyable taste. Ive been burning through those bottles.

The best bock beers I ever drunk are all coming from bavaria, though they can't make a good pils.

have you guys seen the new Louis CK standup? it's pretty damn funny (only a couple slow parts) but the thing that stands out as well is their marketing campaign around it. basically it doesn't have drm or any anti piracy shit and just costs $5 because he's speaking out against the anti piracy shit and asking people to just buy it and support him since he did a lot of the coordinating and cost himself. it goes with his style and i dig it when people are in touch enough to do stuff like that (obviously its marketing but it is a nice change from the regular bullshit hoops you have to jump through with things), hopefully it does well and sets an example kinda like some musicians have done with offering their stuff directly without all sorts of bullshit.

go to his site and check it out if you like his comedy, its definitely worth checking out.

It was way better than "Hilarious", which was the only thing I've never enjoyed from him, as a whnew Borkole.

I'm ready for new Borknagar album in March, and you should be, too. If only for Lars Nedland, Vortex, and Vintersorg all singing at the same time. That's like Solefald, Arcturus, and Vintersorg all in one vocals.

Louis CK is simply the man. I think all of his standups are funny, and his shows have been funny as hell as well (except for the most recent episodes where they kinda lost it a tiny bit). There aren't that many stand up comedians I find hilarious, but he's definitely in my top funniest ones.

a guy I just recently saw some stand up of was patrice o neal. I saw one of his standups from 2011 and thought it was pretty fucking hilarious, and then learned he had died recently which is a huge fucking bummer. We lose so many good comedians and then people like dane cook and carlos mencia just won't go away (i was going to include jb smoove because his standup is pretty hit and miss but he's so funny in curb your enthusiasm that i can't say he sucks).

i passed out for no reason at work, hit the counter or something on my way down and split my chin open. they called an ambulance and everything. i spent 4hrs in the hospital and got my chin stitched up.

holy shit.

whoa, wierd shit.
battle wound!

I cant even describe how bored I am with everything right now. Every week is the exact same.
away from work, I talk to the cats more than anyone else. fuck! :zombie:

damn, hope you feel better. did they say what it could've been at the hospital? that seems like the kinda thing that is pretty dangerous even if it happens almost never and definitely would want to be looked into.

I've fainted randomly before a couple of times. Pretty sure it was always blood sugar related. The common theme in each incident was a day spent burning lots of calories but not eating enough and drinking enough water. The first things I always think of in instances like that are stroke and signs of diabetes.

What did they tell you at the hospital, Laura?

something like that happened a little over a year ago - i didn't pass out but felt like i was going to, just freaked out and started crying at work but was fine when i got some water and sat down in the computer room (lots of fans, very cold) ... i just chalked it up to dehydration

a few months ago, after my oral surgery, i went off 2 different antibiotics then went on an antidepressant like right at the same time. about a week after that, i passed out for a second, got the whole sweaty, clammy freaking out deal then had really bad diarreah - figured it was all the meds in my system, maybe dehydration

the thing yesterday - i can't figure it out. i hadn't done anything radical with my meds, had been drinking water, juice and tea steadily all morning. i hadn't eaten but i hardly ever eat before work. they had no idea at the hospital. my blood pressure, blood sugar, etc was fine. the doctor actually described it as "a fluke."

crazy shit.

WTF Laura? Are you and my GF Kyle on the same cycle?
She woke up Sunday, said good morning to me, then went completely unresponsive, stopped breathing etc. I had to do CPR to get her breathing, called EMS. She just completely stopped, like someone flicked the off switch. She was in ICU for 2 days and is still in the hospital. Matter of fact, so have I. Have barely left, only to shower and pick up a few things.
Scary part is they don't know what happened and all tests are normal.
Laura, next time coordinate and you two can share a room.
