the different kinds of fades between slides, oh yeah, they almost shit in their pants!
today I've been installing desktop scanners that have no power cable, they get their juice from the USB port - the people think I'm delivering the secret of fire down from Mt. Olympus, like Prometheus (ah, Greek mythology, another useless but interesting subject I studied in college).
hey DSM, I think I told you about the guy here who's a contractor, he's responsible for only two UNIX servers, he's got no college, and he's making over 70k a year...almost enough to make you cry.

holy shit... no college and he makes that much?
my dad's an electrical engineer.. and he designed the first 10,000 or so watt amp for something, and since he didnt go to college, he wont get any money from it or anything

true... MCSE is also available in next year's courses. we'll see what turns up at that time. im still confused with what im gonna do once i hit college... music major, psychology major, computer major... there are so many things im interested in. how many things can you major in, in college? just one?

nah, you can do double majors, for instance, but it takes planning. if you are in a liberal arts curriculum, you have to take some basic courses in different fields, for instance, I had to take two or three math/science courses, two semesters of english, two semesters of foreign language (I signed up for ancient greek, proof positive I was smoking dope back then), etc. then, in the fields you are majoring in, you have to take courses in progressive levels of difficulty, example, I had to take a certain number of poli sci 400 level classes, several 500, one or two 600s, and one 700 level, which for me was International Law.

I also took enough history to consider that a minor, if I had stuck around for another semester, I could have taken a few more histories and then I would have had a dual major of polisci and history.

you have time to dick around your freshman year and start taking the basic courses that you'll probably have to take anyway, before you decide on a firm major and begin to plot out how you'll take the higher level courses, because they are more specialized, there is less of a demand for them, and they might only be offered once a semester. This probably also depends on how big the college is as well.

hey, I found that IT salary article... http://www.analystviews.com/Pages/WeeklyReportNewsletter_files/20030113-LeftStory.htm

I guess you can major in music, I don't know....

I would think a dual major in two liberal arts subjects would be alot easier than two diverse subjects...but things happen, I thought I might be interested in law enforcement, but the instructor of the introductory course hated me, I hated him, so...

Guerrilla: I don't think I remember a single word of Greek, it busted my chops, for sure.

yup, networking is pretty key, I took Microsoft Windows 2000 networking and Operating System Essentials last year, next month is accelerated A+ tng, then it's studying lots of brain dumps and take the exam...A+ is cool because you don't need to recertify every few years, but I bet that'll change soon, cause you've got guys who passed it six or seven years ago who are completely out of touch now, and to make the certification something with valid value, it has to be updated, I would think...
