Senior Trip

as mentioned before, to me bands playing is just a side bonus as ultimately it's about hanging out with others like minded from all over the world

Well I too enjoy that what you said but to me, the main priority remains the bands I'd like to see.

Fair enough since I didn't know where he lives, but the assumption he impressed with his statement was that his back problem would eventually heal.

Anyways, as I said, the bands that play the festival should be your incentive to go, everything else being secondary. The bands that Wacken has been booking regularly tour to the point where friends of mine who once regularly made the trip stopped because it was simply cheaper to see these bands in a small club (and in some cases, it's way more fun to see the bands in that setting). But whatevs.

I can agree with that. But I have been seeing all these bands (the ones that come to the states) in cheap (stinking hot) clubs. I like the up close feeling but I want to see the some of the festivals of Europe. We get crappy half ass festivals in the states. And I won't stop at Wacken. If we enjoy ourselves I'm sure we will go to others in years to come.
