If you need any introduction to ABIGAIL, youre at the wrong place baby! See, twenty years of rocking and fucking (and counting!) havent lowered Yusuyuki Suzuki insatiable lust for cheap beers, dirty women and headbanging mania. Inspired by early SODOM, NME, BULLDOZER and MOTORHEAD , the man may have put out more splits so far than most of the bands combined in their whole career, he simply doesn't give a fuck! On the A side of this new split, "Rock'n'Roll Sluts" is just the last in line of many songs hes penned about, well, women and rock'n'roll (duh!) and it just shows - as if one needed that! - that he's lost none of his fucking touch! Having already shared diverse pieces of wax with such dangerous outlaws wearing a torn KREATOR t-shirts as MIDNIGHT, BARBATOS, FASTKILL or NEKROMANTHEON, you can trust Yusuyuki not to team up with wimps. So do not fear: although it is their first official release after only a rehearsal tape last year, Croatias HELLS BOMBER, represented here by two blistering tracks as ungracious and rude as possible, share the exact same spirit, drink the same shitty alcohol and fuck the same sluts. With such high-calibre split as this one, rock'n'roll will truly never die!

CENTINEX - TEUTONISCHE INVASION
Dead, buried but not forgotten. CENTINEX may have officially split in 2006 with both DEMONICAL and INTERMENT kind of carrying out its legacy but the recent LP reissues of Subconscious Lobotomy (The Crypt) or Malleus Maleficarum (Night Of The Living Vinyl) alone is a vivid proof the memory of this great Swedish death-metal warrior lives on. And DOOMENTIA is proud to add this cool item to its mausoleum. In case you were wondering and in case that cover (remember Persecution Mania?) and title didnt give the word away just yet, yes, this posthumous 7 inches includes two very special cover songs: SODOMs "Enchanted Land" and KREATORs "Ripping Corpse". Funny enough, those two covers had been recorded by the same classic line-up yet eighteen months apart and they sound quite different to say the least. If the former was initially recorded in late 2000 yet made only available three years through a split 7 inches shared with NUNSLAUGHTER aptly called Hail Germania, the later was committed to tape in march 99 and released first through a Tribute to Kreator album by Fullmoon Productions, before being added as a bonus track to the CD re-release of Malleus Maleficarum in 2003. Yet it makes here its first apparition on wax. Finally available again and working as a fitting tribute to both the classic sound of the German thrash metal scene of the 80s and CENTINEX, Teutonischen Invasion is for true maniacs only!

TANGORODRIM/SALUTE - SPLIT 10"
So you thought you were safe from TANGORODRIM didnt you? That the recent, deluxe re-release on vinyl only of their third album (originally released in 2003) was a one-off shot? That you could go back to your safe, PC and Casio-sponsored nice black-metal and forget about those ugly punks once and for all? Well, think again. Now fully back on track with a now expanded four-piece line-up and right in the wake of the recent release of an impressive EP through Norways APOCALYPTIC EMPIRE (Two Iron Rules), Israels most bastard sons are back with a vengeance with this split and two epic tracks, including the 7+ minutes fist-in-the-face-God that is "Unholy From The Hooves To The Horns". Fear not, their brother-in-arms from SALUTE arent resting on their laurels either though. As a matter of fact, while their earlier material was first and foremost about black dirty nroll, dope and fucking in the streets, including one great split 7 inches with OCCVLTA last year on DOOMENTIA, those two new songs (plus one bonus track weve sworn secrecy about but hush, hush) feel like a bit of departure for the Bristol boys but retain their unmistakable thirst for all things evil. And yes, they would still make Nocturno Culto and Fenriz proud. All in all, over 25 minutes of evil made sound, rounded by a fitting artwork by Peppe Simmons from BUNKER 66.

HATRED - BURNING WRATH
If you're a faithful follower you should know by now that at DOOMENTIA headquarters they don't fuck around with thrash-metal. They like it raw, in-your-face and with enough gusto to kill any posers in sight! And so far, our Italian friends have yet to fail us, thanks to already blinding records recently by BARBARIAN or BUNKER 66. And guess what? You can now add HATRED to the list! Already spotted for their participation in the 2007 hailed sequel of the famous 'Speed Kills' compilation, the pedigree alone of this power-trio should tell you what the game is here as you'll find back here three quarter of BAPHOMETS BLOOD current line-up, including Necrovomiterror (on vocals and guitar), who's been desecrating souls with BLASPHEMOPHAGHER since 2002. And while the latter is now on hold until further notice, the future spells HATRED whose first proper full-length 'Burning Wrath' -their first sign of life since their 7-inch 'Winds Of Annihilation' on IRON BONEHEAD back in 2010- is now being unleashed through DOOMENTIA. With one foot in the old-school and the other in the modern approach of all things thrashy, this is no simple nostalgia exercise but a stomping and fistbanging 36 minutes trip with a thick-as-a-brick production and relentless drumming.

HOUR OF 13 - 333 (PURPLE)
With just their self-titled debut album, Hour of 13 had already gained recognition as one of the most noteworthy old school Heavy/Doom Metal acts in today's scene, a status they cemented with their following full lengths "The Ritualist" and "333". When we let the band out of their contract so they could sign with a bigger label we retained the rights to release their next two full lengths on vinyl. The first of these is their 3rd album, entitled "333". The LP comes in gatefold jacket with new artwork, limited 200x purple.

With just their self-titled debut album, Hour of 13 had already gained recognition as one of the most noteworthy old school Heavy/Doom Metal acts in today's scene, a status they cemented with their following full lengths "The Ritualist" and "333". The original press of their debut album on CD and LP is totally sold out since years, so we decided to reissue it now. We revised and improved the layout of the original release. KVELERTAK - MEIR (2LP)
They're called punk and metal, but at their hearts Norwegian berserkers Kvelertak are the living, firebreathing embodiment of rock and roll. Since their formation in 2006, they've built a die-hard fan-base hungry for their utterly ferocious live shows that have already burned two flaming tire-tracks across the globe. Kvelertak's euphorically-received self-titled 2011 debut was iTunes 2011's US Metal Breakthrough Artist of The Year. Pitchfork described their sound as having "monolithic walls of adrenal-gland-strangling sound" while LA Weekly named frontman Erland Hjelvik #2 on their list of top ten metal frontmen (and women) under 30. Overseas the band has racked up numerous accolades. Kvelertak was called "the best Norwegian debut of all time" by Norwegian rock authority Asbjrn Slettemark, named "Best Debut Album" by Metal Hammer Germany, "Best New Artist" and "Best Rock Album" at the Spellemannprisen (Norway's Grammy equivalent) and has received countless additional critical acclaim from Metal Hammer UK and Kerrang! who called them "the most exciting new band on the planet." Produced by Converge's Kurt Ballou, Kvelertak will release their highly anticipated sophomore album entitled 'Meir' (which means "more" in English) in March 2013. Burning World Records is proud to release the debut single from Corrections House, 'Hoax The System', for Europe. In the US the single will be released by on Parker and Lamont's War Crime Recordings label. Corrections House is a metal supergroup featuring Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium), and Bruce Lamont (Yakuza/Bloodiest). "There's really no way to sum up the sound of Corrections House. If you listen to each of the members' individual projects, then you can maybe get an idea if you just imagine a nice blend of the four of them. It's not metal, it's not industrial, and it's certainly not easily classified. But overall, it's pure genius!" (Zero Tolerance Magazine)

FUZZ - SLEIGH RIDE

BIRDEYE/TRANSATLANTIC RAT'S ATOM - SPLIT LP
TRANSATLANTIC RAT'S ATOM's music feels somehow weird. This is twisted and heavy groovy psych-doom from two thirds of UFO GESTAPO (RIP). Occasional sax, clarinet, harp and keyboards give their side of the split a slight jazzy dissonant feeling. BIRDEYE have gently and humbly taken the B-side, though this is none other than EDGY BURNING WITCH's new band. Evil and psychedelic in its own inimitable way, the music is organic but noisy. And this is not the last you'll hear from them. Unless you're about to die!

BONGRIPPER - LIVE AT ROADBURN (2LP)
Powerful registration of the 2 sets Bongripper played on Roadburn 2012. First ever shows of Bongripper in Europe. Mixed and mastered by James Plotkin (Sunn O)))/Isis etc). Vinyl limited to 500 copies. On the main stage, Bongripper performing all of the beautiful Satan Worshipping Doom album proved to be a revelation for most at the festival. Massively framed by the enormous and intricate cover art, the four silent Chicagoans seemed to teach us all a lesson in how to deliver the heaviest and most atmospheric of music using just stringed instruments, drums and electricity. No head was left un-nodded in the 013 building as they blew away most of the competition with such furiously focussed cyclopean riffing that a crack nearly appeared in the Dutch sea walls 60 miles to the west. One hour of faultless instrumental rock. I felt hugely privileged. To quote any young American - fucking awesome. The Sleeping Shaman Vinyl will be only the Sunday Satan Worshipping Doom-set.

Gingerpig was founded in 2009 by Boudewijn Bonebakker, previously known for his work with Gorefest and whom following graduated at the conservatory with the music of Purcell and Bach. OLD WIND - FEAST ON YOUR GONE
From the darkest parts of Northern Sweden, THE OLD WIND blows... raw and cold, just like its origin and heritage. This constellation of 5 is a new project incepted, after years of absence from the live-scene, by Tomas Liljedahl, former vocalist of the legendary BREACH, who must be counted as one of the most visionary and influential bands of the past 2 decades - a band without whom none of all these newer sub-genres of heavy music that have the word ,post" in them, would exist. Originally incepted as a studio project, Liljedahl soon realized that these rough, abrasive songs needed to be performed live, with a real band. And so he teamed up with his former BREACH band mates Niklas Quintana (guitar) and Kristian Andersson (bass guitar), added drummer Karl Daniel Liden to the lineup and asked Robin Staps of Pelagic Records & The Ocean to join on 3rd guitar. The vinyl version comes on clear vinyl and with hand silk-screened cover art; printed on thick 650 gram cardboard that is as rough as the music.

13 is the upcoming nineteenth studio album by the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. It will be the first studio album released by Black Sabbath since Forbidden (1995), and their first studio recording with original singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler since the live album Reunion (1998), which contained two new studio tracks. Leather Synn is an heavy metal band founded in 2011. The band belongs to a movement which can be called as the New Wave Of Portuguese Heavy Metal. Taking influences from many of the mid-80's U.S. traditional metal acts, they also have their local inspiration in 80's Portuguese heavy metal bands of their arcane underground. Leather Synn has a few heavy metal knights from distinct local bands such as Dawnrider, Ravensire and Inquisitor. Their debut 12"EP has 20 minutes of pure heavy metal from the 80s for fans of bands like Medieval Steel, Warrior, Thor, Glacier, Black Death, Ivory Tiger, Salems Wych, Iron Gypsy, etc.! Also they pay tribute to Portuguese cult acts such as Alkateya, Xeque Mate, Valium, Iberia, STS Paranoid, etc.! Prepare for the attack of the soldiers of the NWOPHM: Synn is Ynn!

MACHETAZO - RUIN
If you ask MACHETAZO's drummer and longtime spokesman Dopi about how he feels about the band's new album 'Ruin' - and first proper full-lenght since 2008's 'Mundo Cripta' - he'll tell you that he sees it as a new phase for us as I think we've finally found our own sound and style. It's a dark, negative and hermetic album that reflects perfectly the attitude of the people involved. One could say that nothing was done that differently this time around though: the recording took place in the band's hometown, A Corua in Galicia, at local studio called the Treboada Studio where they have been doing stuffs with Paco 'The Maggot' Liao engineering since 1998. And to once again get the most spontaneous and energetic sound possible, they voluntary recorded the whole thing in only 18 (!) hours, yet after six months of intense rehearsals in order to be fully ready when it was time to commit the whole thing to tape. And it bloody shows. Ruin' may sometimes dwell in surprising yet suffocating doom-as-fuck territories that will have old-school death-metal freaks in its dirtiest form possible shit their pants ("Tanatorio" or the eight-minutes plus drone and tortured pulse of "Ruinas") but at the end of the day, this is, guess what, another pure fucking old-school grindcore masterpiece. No need to remind you the band's influences, you know them and they proudly wear them on their sleeves anyway. No, all you need to know that in a world where even extreme music is being sterilized, their fifth full-length doesn't show any sign of them slowing down. As a matter of fact, co-released on LP by DOOMENTIA and PARASITIC and on CD (and limited digipack) by DOOMENTIA this April, perfectly illustrated by Timo Ketola stark black and white artwork, one could simply say that 'Ruin' is the real fucking deal. And so are MACHETAZO

MORDEBRAND - UNMAKE
You can take the man out of the death metal but you can't take the death metal out of the man, it seems. Following the example of his former MACABRE END/GOD MACABRE comrade Jonas Stahlhammar who after a ten year break from the extreme metal scene has been churning out records like crazy since forming BOMBS OF HADES - Per Boder is back in full swing and doing what he knows best: growling his way through furious slabs of old-school Swedish death fuckin' metal! If MORBRAND was initiated as a studio project by Johan Rudberg and Bjorn Larsson from thrash metal warriors THE LAW, in 2006, it's really when Boder was pulled out of his retirement in 2010 that the band finally started to fire all cylinders. And since the release of their first MCD Necropsychotic in 2011, they've been on a roll. The following year saw them offering a split with, you've guessed it, BOMBS OF HADES and a 7 inch EP (entitledKolumbarium). Guess that Unmake just proves that they're not planning to slow down anytime soon. Adorned with a fantastic artwork by Juanjo Castellano Rosado, not only does it include three new tracks, but as a special treat it also features one killer EXCITER cover - "War Is Hell" (whose original is included on the Canadians second album Violence & Force from 1984, yeah!) - with added eerie keyboard layers that makes it even more evil-sounding. Overall, it almost feels as if his absence from the scene for so long, Boder is now on a mission to make up for lost time. Mission accomplished, since Unmake could just as well have been recorded at Sunlight Studios in 1991, 'cause many wouldn't know the difference.

MACHETAZO - RUIN
If you ask MACHETAZO's drummer and longtime spokesman Dopi about how he feels about the band's new album 'Ruin' - and first proper full-lenght since 2008's 'Mundo Cripta' - he'll tell you that he sees it as a new phase for us as I think we've finally found our own sound and style. It's a dark, negative and hermetic album that reflects perfectly the attitude of the people involved. One could say that nothing was done that differently this time around though: the recording took place in the band's hometown, A Corua in Galicia, at local studio called the Treboada Studio where they have been doing stuffs with Paco 'The Maggot' Liao engineering since 1998. And to once again get the most spontaneous and energetic sound possible, they voluntary recorded the whole thing in only 18 (!) hours, yet after six months of intense rehearsals in order to be fully ready when it was time to commit the whole thing to tape. And it bloody shows. Ruin' may sometimes dwell in surprising yet suffocating doom-as-fuck territories that will have old-school death-metal freaks in its dirtiest form possible shit their pants ("Tanatorio" or the eight-minutes plus drone and tortured pulse of "Ruinas") but at the end of the day, this is, guess what, another pure fucking old-school grindcore masterpiece. No need to remind you the band's influences, you know them and they proudly wear them on their sleeves anyway. No, all you need to know that in a world where even extreme music is being sterilized, their fifth full-length doesn't show any sign of them slowing down. As a matter of fact, co-released on LP by DOOMENTIA and PARASITIC and on CD (and limited digipack) by DOOMENTIA this April, perfectly illustrated by Timo Ketola stark black and white artwork, one could simply say that 'Ruin' is the real fucking deal. And so are MACHETAZO

MORDEBRAND - UNMAKE
You can take the man out of the death metal but you can't take the death metal out of the man, it seems. Following the example of his former MACABRE END/GOD MACABRE comrade Jonas Stahlhammar who after a ten year break from the extreme metal scene has been churning out records like crazy since forming BOMBS OF HADES - Per Boder is back in full swing and doing what he knows best: growling his way through furious slabs of old-school Swedish death fuckin' metal! If MORBRAND was initiated as a studio project by Johan Rudberg and Bjorn Larsson from thrash metal warriors THE LAW, in 2006, it's really when Boder was pulled out of his retirement in 2010 that the band finally started to fire all cylinders. And since the release of their first MCD Necropsychotic in 2011, they've been on a roll. The following year saw them offering a split with, you've guessed it, BOMBS OF HADES and a 7 inch EP (entitledKolumbarium). Guess that Unmake just proves that they're not planning to slow down anytime soon. Adorned with a fantastic artwork by Juanjo Castellano Rosado, not only does it include three new tracks, but as a special treat it also features one killer EXCITER cover - "War Is Hell" (whose original is included on the Canadians second album Violence & Force from 1984, yeah!) - with added eerie keyboard layers that makes it even more evil-sounding. Overall, it almost feels as if his absence from the scene for so long, Boder is now on a mission to make up for lost time. CONAN - LIVE AT ROADBURN 2012
Stage 1 at Roadburn 2012 was already overcrowded when Conan entered (with their gear through the audience) and laid down an hour of Horseback battle doom. The band were in obviously ebullient form, stoked at playing this legendary festival and also being asked to join Sleep in Oslo, as selections from the new and monstrous Monnos were intermingled with the huge and bulldozing force of classics like Krull and Older Than Earth. Jons instantly likeable faraway vocals have never sounded more realised to these ears, and the audience were massively appreciative of Conan's true wallop as the Stonehenge of amps that framed the band belched out universe-sized slices of ultra low-end hostility. A special mention too for Paul O'Neil's expert drumming which represents the kind of versatility and intelligence that one would not usually expect with this most primal of genres, truly adding colour to the palette. By the end of the set I had cunningly worked my way into the centre of the room and believe me I was not regretful of the deoxygenated crush of Stage 01 - Conan had finally arrived on the international stage like the great wrecking ball that they have always been and I needed to be there to witness their special Roadburn moment. One could say that nothing was done that differently this time around though: the recording took place in the band's hometown, A Corua in Galicia, at local studio called the Treboada Studio where they have been doing stuffs with Paco 'The Maggot' Liao engineering since 1998. And to once again get the most spontaneous and energetic sound possible, they voluntary recorded the whole thing in only 18 (!) hours, yet after six months of intense rehearsals in order to be fully ready when it was time to commit the whole thing to tape. And it bloody shows. Ruin' may sometimes dwell in surprising yet suffocating doom-as-fuck territories that will have old-school death-metal freaks in its dirtiest form possible shit their pants ("Tanatorio" or the eight-minutes plus drone and tortured pulse of "Ruinas") but at the end of the day, this is, guess what, another pure fucking old-school grindcore masterpiece. No need to remind you the band's influences, you know them and they proudly wear them on their sleeves anyway. No, all you need to know that in a world where even extreme music is being sterilized, their fifth full-length doesn't show any sign of them slowing down. As a matter of fact, co-released on LP by DOOMENTIA and PARASITIC and on CD (and limited digipack) by DOOMENTIA this April, perfectly illustrated by Timo Ketola stark black and white artwork, one could simply say that 'Ruin' is the real fucking deal. And so are MACHETAZO

MOSS (UK) - HORRIBLE NIGHT (2LP)
'Horrible Night' is the sound of MOSS emerging from its cocoon, becoming a much more savage, intelligent and all the more terrifying beast. While no longer obsessed with extremity for its own sake -with weirdly infectious riffs, eccentric vocal melodies and no song over 12 minutes- MOSS remain heavier-than-thou, broadening their horror beyond any imposed 'scene' expectations. This mastery of the craft is evident from the opening moments of first track 'Horrible Nights' -written back in 2010 it sets the course for the album, taking the twisting death-crawl of MOSS mini-epics such as "Tombs Of The Blind Drugged' and administering a lethal dose of addictive melody, cooked up by the colossal riffs of Dominic Finbow and the Ozzy-via-seance vocalisations of Olly Pearson. Cuts such as 'The Coral Of Chaos' and 'Dark Lady' expand further upon this potent formula, dragging the Black Sabbath blueprint to its most nightmarish conclusion and ushering MOSS further into their newest dark age. With 6 tracks, MOSS proves more than ever why this English cult band is regarded exactly as such. While still no easy pill to swallow for the uninitiated, over its duration 'Horrible Night' will demand complete mind control. Nonsense prefixes such as "stoner", "sludge" or "drone" do not apply here; this is pure DOOM METAL, a celebration of horror, the arcane and the unknown. Although traditionally a reluctant live act, in 2013 MOSS are set to embark on their first European headline tour, as well as a return trip to Holland's Roadburn Festival, playing Jus Oborn's Electric Acid Orgy with Electric Wizard, Dream Death, Psychic TV and the Pretty Things, it seems in their 13th year MOSS have finally arrived.

ANVIL CHORUS - (BLACK) THE KILLING SUN (LP+7")
Edition of 150 copies on black vinyl, presented in 425gsm heavy cardboard cover, including 4-page insert and a black vinyl bonus 7". Anvil Chorus must be one of the most underrated bands of the entire American Metal movement. To achieve your highest goals in life, the timing needs to be just perfect. In the case of Thaen Rasmussen (guitars, vocals), Doug Piercy (guitars), Aaron Zimpel (vocals, bass), Phil Bennett (keyboards) and Joe Bennett (drums) it was not a case of too little too late but a question of too much too soon. When the band issued their first privately financed 7" single entitled Blondes In Black in 1982, there was no Bay Area Thrash scene in San Francisco yet (this came a good year later with Metallica making the first waves, plus Megadeth, Exodus, Legacy et al). In the year Number Of The Beast was released, the Metal world (even in the US of A) was still following the rules of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Although Anvil Chorus fitted in perfectly, their career was relatively short-lived, the band never really took off.

COVEN (USA/80S) - WORSHIP NEW GODS (BLACK)

The band Coven we are talking about is not the thrash/death metal bunch from Seattle (who released the notorious Blessed Is The Black album in 1988). And it's not the obscure 1960s American band who might have issued the first ever Satanic rock album in history either (1969's 'Witchcraft Destroys Minds And Reaps Souls' - today a precious collector's item). 'Worship New Gods' is a doom metal monster originally released in 1987 and now re-released for the first time on High Roller Records (remastered by Patrick W. Engel at his Temple of Disharmony). Coven were initially formed in the motor city of Detroit in 1985.

DARKNESS (GERMANY) - DEATHSQUAD (BLACK)
150 x black vinyl, 425gsm heavy cardboard cover, lyric sheet, poster. There's no doubt about the fact that the Ruhr area was the birthplace of German thrash metal. Kreator, Sodom, Living Death and even one-hit wonders such as Violent Force (Velbert) all came from working-class towns graced by bleak industrial buildings and mass unemployment. The same goes for Darkness. They formed on the spot on December 1st 1984 after a legendary gig at the Zeche Carl in Essen, where Destruction, Iron Angel and Tormentor, an early incarnation of Kreator, had been playing. They had everything: the name of the band, Darkness (Destroyer was an early alternative name), the concept, and the pseudonyms, namely Torturer (Lacky), Agony (Hartmut Schoner) and Skull (Andreas Becker). Darkness' first album Death Squad, originally released in 1987 on Tales of Thrash, a subsidiary label of GAMA, became an instant Teutonic thrash classic.

DIAMOND LIL - DIAMOND LIL (BLACK)

Being early forerunners of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement (just like Adrian Smith's Urchin from the East End of London), Diamond Lil was formed during 1975 with the line up of Lorna Oakley (vocals), Harry Spooner (lead guitar), Alan Letch (bass guitar) and Marcus Foakes (drums). The group started in Braintree, Essex, as a covers band playing standards taken from groups such as Wishbone Ash, The Pirates, Thin Lizzy and other 1970's bands as well as playing some rock classics. Their first ever live appearance took place on the 10th of December 1975. During their first year, Diamond Lil evolved from a pure covers band to become a totally original group playing a repertoire of no less than forty self-penned songs.

ONSLAUGHT - POWER FROM HELL (BLACK)

That truly accounts for the first full-length album by legendary U.K.-thrashers Onslaught, whose debut from 1985 is counted among the most influential cult classics of the nascent thrash metal scene. Onslaught first started out as a punk outfit, heavily influenced by bands like Discharge and G.B.H. on the one hand, and more metallic acts such as Motorhead , Exodus, Slayer and Venom on the other hand. "Power From Hell" does not betray these roots, being as filthy, mean and aggressive as it gets. On this early release raw punk riffing meets satanic evilness, while Paul Mahoney delivers strangled vocals that come straight from the hellish depths of your local squats manky cellar, totally reflecting the spirit of a time when music was not labelled but lived. The band's anthem "Sentinel Beast" was included on the "Metal Massacre VII" compilation album. "Depths of Hell" was their first and only album. It captures the very heart and soul of Sentinel Beast - from the title track's expression of fear and submission to the re-recorded version of "Sentinel Beast". The cover version of Iron Maiden's classic Paul Di'Anno era "Phantom of the Opera" was another highlight of the record.

Between 1998 and 2007, they released four albums, all considered milestones in the genre.

LOST SOCIETY - FAST LOUD DEATH
Black vinyl. 17, 18, 19, 19. No, that's not today's lottery numbers, but the age of the band members of Finland's most promising contemporary newcomer combo. Founded early 2010 in Jyväskylä by thrash/speed metal enthusiast Samy Elbanna, the front man gathered an ensemble of passionate allies around him to establish a band that soon should become known as the most energetic up-and-comers Scandinavia had seen in years. After numerous gigs in every nook and corner of their home country, bringing them great feedback for their extraordinarily strong stage presence, LOST SOCIETY decided to take part in the world-renowned GBOB (Global Battle Of the Bands). After they had won the preliminary decision round in their hometown, they were invited to their country's finals held in Helsinki, where they prevailed against 13 contesters and eventually came off victorious. The contest peaked in an amazing performance at the big GBOB world finals event in London on December 9, 2012 that brought LOST SOCIETY great awareness and respect far over and above the Finnish borders.

NECRONOMICON BEAST - SOWERS OF DISCORD
One could say that even before famed illustrator and now longtime ally of DOOMENTIA Mark Riddick introduced us to NECRONOMICON BEAST, for whom he designed the blistering cover of 'Sowers Of Discord', they were due to end up on the label anyway. Thrash metal the evil way is the name of the game here and the screaming chorus that goes like "Ave Sathanaaaaaas!" of the opening track "Antichriste" should tell you all you need to know about this Jundiai in the Sao Paulo suburbs-based lot. Except that whereas one might have expected another black/thrash band with punk leanings, this power-trio proves with a fist that they just don't play to the same category and don't really fit with the overall chaotic sound of the Brazilian scene. Maybe fuelled by their various experiences in different fields of the vast metal sphere - heavy-metal with WYTCHKRAFT, doom/death with MORIENDI, folk/metal with FOLKLORD etc. - they've settled for a music that has a much tighter, American-like type of sound yet without loosing a drop of their blasphemous elements, even daring on a regular basis to go beyond the five minutes mark. So think of an early AT WAR or BULLDOZER with a modern production that would have decided to get his membership card at the Satanic Church and go on a killing spree in the nearest liquor store! After a series of demos and limited releases on selected format such as tapes, 'Sowers Of Discord' represents band's second proper full-length after fourteen years (!) of existence, their first 'real' release since the 2004's debut album 'Hell Thrash War' and their first recording featuring new member Warhammer, on bass. But it's also first and foremost a great proof than in 2013, with songtitles like "Warfield" or "World Assured Destruction" thrash is alive and well and still obsessed with cruelty!

STEPSON - THE LOST TAPES '72-'74
About forty years in the making, and finally the world has the second Stepson album! Utilizing tapes preserved by drummer Len Fagan then transferred to digital and mastered by bassist Bruce Hauser, this fine collection of twelve songs is as close as the world will ever get to a real second Stepson album. Some is raw, some is embryonic, but it's all prime stuff for fans to savor, reflecting the bands "devil may care" attitude and rock'n'roll lifestyle. And just in case you don't believe that the band liked to party, consider that the exact recording dates (and even some locations) have long been forgotten. To borrow an old adage: If you can remember Stepson, you weren't there. Kicking off with a crunching riff by guitarist Joey Newman, Danger Zone is the heaviest track Stepson ever cut, replete with an ominous atmosphere reflecting the seedy side of their native Los Angeles; Streets of Alameda (1974) is an ode to vocalist Jeff Hawks' hometown, featuring a liquor store holdup and a stolen Lincoln used as the getaway car. Flesh & Blood is the only track on here that got an official release, albeit by ex-Smith belter Gayle McCormick as the title track to her second solo album, released by Decca in 1972. This version showcases the riff in full glory. And if you don't believe that this riff is strong, consider that The Tonight Show band played it for approximately two weeks in 1976, prompting Fagan to confront "author" Don Menza, who coincidentally did the Flesh & Blood albums horn charts and was now claiming credit for the song under the title Instant Heart. The song disappeared from late night TV show shortly thereafter. Bad Situation, the only other 1974 track, describes the bands predicament that year: a track that should have propelled them to the big time, but instead bounced off a brick wall like a tennis ball. The maracas and funkified quasi-Bo Diddley groove hint at Stepson's growth and what might have been. Bluesy hard rock band that rose from the ashes of Touch. Their sole album was released on ABC/Dunhill Records in 1974. Despite the fact that the band never toured in support of their amazing album, over the years the word has gotten out about this incredible album and the band enjoys cult success among collectors. Easily one of the best examples of "cock rock" ever put onto wax. Side One: 1. Danger Zone 2. Streets of Alameda 3. Can't Help Myself 4. Flesh & Blood; 5. Don't Say Goodbye (Say Goodnight). WOLVES LIKE US - GET GONE 10"
PROSTHETIC RECORDS is excited to announce the release of a special vinyl only 10" single from Norwegian's WOLVES LIKE US. A precursor to the upcoming new album, these two brand new recordings are exclusive to this release - the epic, sprawling title track "Get Gone" clocking in at just under 8 minutes and a masterful cover version of Quicksand's "Too Official" on the b-side. Having signed with Prosthetic Records back in 2011, WOLVES LIKE US (who feature ex-members from such notable Norwegian acts as Amulet, Infidels Forever, JR Ewing and Silver) have had a couple of years of dedicated hard work and widespread acclaim. Their debut album from 2011, 'Late Love' was warmly received and heralded both domestically as well as across the UK and mainland Europe, from NRK and GQ Norway, to Visions DE, Kerrang and BBC Radio 1 amongst numerous others. Their infectious, powerful and honest fusion of post-hardcore and heavy punk / indie has seem then tour Europe three times over this period too with Kvelertak, the Swing Kids and label mates Junius and a main stage appearance at Norway's prestigious OYA Festival, among others. HEAVY LOAD - DEATH OR GLORY
Heavy Load was a Swedish heavy metal band from Stockholm. The band is often hailed as the first Swedish heavy metal band and were known for their Viking themes. They formed in 1976, as a trio, by the two brothers Wahlquist (guitar, vocals and drums), together with bassist Michael Backlund. 1977 Heavy Load recorded their debut-album "Full Speed At High Level" (released 1978), now with Dan Molen handeling the bass playing. The record company, Heavy Sound Records, went bankrupt after a while (not because of Heavy Load I hope!) and the Wahlquist Bros. formed their own label, Thunderload Records, and recorded this follow up 'Death Or Glory' album.

Reissue of 1983 album. Heavy Load was a Swedish heavy metal band from Stockholm. The band is often hailed as the first Swedish heavy metal band and were known for their Viking themes. LEGEND (USA/HARDROCK) - FROM THE FJORDS
1979 progressive heavy rock masterpiece that set the flame for the epic metal genre a few years later. Connecticut's LEGEND had their record released as a private pressing of a mere 500 copies, and now changes hands for $700 and more. Over the last 15 years and specially due to the internet share of information on underground cult gems, this monster grew and grew in popularity and price. This power-trio shared their love for Sabbath/Heep/Rush and others of the genre, but also fusion rock like Mahavishnu Orchestra. Their imaginary revolved around epic fantasy, specially Viking mythology. Legend was a power trio, full of great musical ideas and concepts that unfortunately didn't have a place in a 1979 garbage filled music industry. The band ended up in 1980 and changed name to Mercenary which only released a single in 1981. And it's not the obscure 1960s American band who might have issued the first ever Satanic rock album in history either (1969's Witchcraft Destroys Minds And Reaps Souls - today a precious collector's item). Worship New Gods is a doom metal monster originally released in 1987 and now re-released for the first time on High Roller Records (remastered by Patrick W. Engel at his Temple of Disharmony). Coven were initially formed in the motor city of Detroit in 1985.

DARKNESS (GERMANY) - DEATHSQUAD (COL)

Kreator, Sodom, Living Death and even one-hit wonders such as Violent Force (Velbert) all came from working-class towns graced by bleak industrial buildings and mass unemployment. The same goes for Darkness. They formed on the spot on December 1st 1984 after a legendary gig at the Zeche Carl in Essen, where Destruction, Iron Angel and Tormentor, an early incarnation of Kreator, had been playing. They had everything: the name of the band, Darkness (Destroyer was an early alternative name), the concept, and the pseudonyms, namely Torturer (Lacky), Agony (Hartmut Schoner) and Skull (Andreas Becker). Darkness' first album Death Squad, originally released in 1987 on Tales of Thrash, a subsidiary label of GAMA, became an instant Teutonic thrash classic.

Zatokrev, hailing from Basel in Switzerland, was founded by Silvio Spadino (drums), Marco Grementieri (bass/samples) and Frederyk Rotter (guitar/vocals) in April 2002 to deliver a heavy load of dragging metal. Some is raw, some is embryonic, but it's all prime stuff for fans to savor, reflecting the bands "devil may care" attitude and rock'n'roll lifestyle. And just in case you don't believe that the band liked to party, consider that the exact recording dates (and even some locations) have long been forgotten. To borrow an old adage: If you can remember Stepson, you weren't there. Kicking off with a crunching riff by guitarist Joey Newman, Danger Zone is the heaviest track Stepson ever cut, replete with an ominous atmosphere reflecting the seedy side of their native Los Angeles; Streets of Alameda (1974) is an ode to vocalist Jeff Hawks' hometown, featuring a liquor store holdup and a stolen Lincoln used as the getaway car. Flesh & Blood is the only track on here that got an official release, albeit by ex-Smith belter Gayle McCormick as the title track to her second solo album, released by Decca in 1972. This version showcases the riff in full glory. And if you don't believe that this riff is strong, consider that The Tonight Show band played it for approximately two weeks in 1976, prompting Fagan to confront "author" Don Menza, who coincidentally did the Flesh & Blood albums horn charts and was now claiming credit for the song under the title Instant Heart. The song disappeared from late night TV show shortly thereafter. Bad Situation, the only other 1974 track, describes the bands predicament that year: a track that should have propelled them to the big time, but instead bounced off a brick wall like a tennis ball. The maracas and funkified quasi-Bo Diddley groove hint at Stepson's growth and what might have been. Bluesy hard rock band that rose from the ashes of Touch. Their sole album was released on ABC/Dunhill Records in 1974. Despite the fact that the band never toured in support of their amazing album, over the years the word has gotten out about this incredible album and the band enjoys cult success among collectors. From the backward special theatre of archetypes, AGARTTHA is a flashing journey into the past dream of a gypsy moth whom powder ferries the listener into the twists and turns of unconscious among the remote architectures of black pointed stones and echoes of warmth and light. Agarttha is the solo project of Italian musician FRANCESCA MARONGLU, already in ARCHITEUTHIS REX (Utech Records) along with Antonio Gallucci. 'A Water Which Does Not Wet Hands' is inspired by the namesake book of Sendivogius, a Polish pioneer in alchemical studies and it deals with the Jungian archetypes, in particular with the apocalyptic dreams and premonitions of the daughter of Jung's friend, an 8 year old child which dreamed for awhile about death symbols and drew them in a small book before dying of a fatal illness.



ARSTIDIR LIFSINS/HELRUNAR - FRAGMENTS: A MYTHOLOGICAL EXCAVATION
Gatefold sleeve, 180g vinyl, signed poster, PVC protection sleeve. Heathen black metal. Apart from being a collaborative effort by Helrunar und Arstidir Lifsins, who each recorded one song of epic length exclusively for this split release, "Fragments - A Mythological Excavation" also testifies to the friendship between the labels of both bands, Prophecy Productions and Ván. This release (overall duration: 35 minutes) already suggests, both groups delve into mythological topics: Helrunar's "Wein Fur Polyphem" draws from Homer's "Odyssey" while Arstidir Lifsin's 'Vindvalarmal" taps into the sources of Old Norse mythology. What in the end unifies both songs musically as well as lyrically are their monumental character and apocalyptic undertone which is manifest to the elemental force of those mythological ideas - a power reanimated by "Fragments".

DEADLOCK - THE ARSONIST
After a line-up change, a new chapter opens in the book of DEADLOCK. A chapter that couldn't be more electrifying and thrilling. Every part, every vocal line and each and every played note had to live up to the expectations of all band members. The result - 'The Arsonist' - is a testament to this work ethic. Be it the driving opener 'The Great Pretender', the brutal death metal song 'Darkness Divine', or the ballad 'Hurt' that puts the angelic voice of Sabine Scherer in the spotlight. The mix of melodic death metal and elements from the world of pop has reached a new level of maturity and depth of details on 'The Arsonist'. The band did not shy away from orchestral sounds, choir elements or synth fragments. Despite the new influences, the band built a musical bridge to its previous releases, which is due to the main songwriter Sebastian Reichl. Reichl made use of different sounds in order to create a score to a world of feelings. He creates an atmosphere that is oppressive, melancholic and unsettling, but because of the pop elements, the sound turns out to be fresh, catchy and dynamic. The combination of the sound and the vocal work of John Gahlert and Sabine Scherer makes the album the most versatile and sophisticated longplayer in the bands history. 'The Arsonist' is both, catchy and complex. Thus, giving the album a timeless quality. "The Arsonist" is once more a testament to the bands grasp of pure heaviness and catchy melodies. DEADLOCK's 'The Final Storm' says that 'A new aeon rises. We are here to stay. May my voice be the storm...we are the storm'. After listening to the new album, one can wholeheartedly agree with this statement.

180 gram audiophile pressing. Originally released in 1990. The title is a portmanteau of pornography and graffiti. The album sold very well, peaking at #10 on the Billboard 200, and was certified double platinum in the U.S. It is the band's best selling album. Two singles from Pornograffiti, "More Than Words" and "Hole Hearted", reached the top-5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Two other tracks, "Decadence Dance" and "Get the Funk Out", reached the lower half of Billboard's rock chart.

But the final result is an awesome combination of both of the traditional, and modern sounds of gothic rock. They are carrying the torch, and they are giving a refreshing rendition of the genre at the same time. Candlemass' debut album Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is a genre-defining classic if there ever was one - the starting point of modern epic doom metal, even. In 2010 and 2011 Candlemass invited the original Epicus vocalist Johan Lngqvist back into the fold for a few select shows celebrating the album's 25th birthday. This vinyl only release captures the band performing Epicus live at the sold out Roadburn Festival in Holland, April 2011. Mixed from a professional 32-track recording and mastered vinyl under the supervision of Leif Edling, this is the ultimate live version of the classic. The Svart release has the album spread over three sides of vinyl and an etching on side D. The two LPs are wrapped in a gatefold jacket.

DARK BUDDHA RISING - DAKHMANDAL (3LP BOX)
3LP box set, colored vinyl, 350 copies. Finnish occult psychedelic drone doom metal group Dark Buddha Rising is drenched in deep mystery, with no biographical information available. Described by Roadburn Festival as "sprawling dirge of doom metal and myriad cryptic incantations luring the listener into a trance of doom-induced sensory depravation", the band has released three self-financed full length albums (Ritual IX, Entheomorphosis, Abyssolute Transfinite) on vinyl only. The time has come for the fourth Dark Buddha opus; Dakhmandal, for which the band chose to employ the services of the eclectic Finnish label Svart Records. Dakhmandal, the new album of the drone metal necromancers can be described as oppressive and circular. Due to the nature of the work it will be released primarily as a triple 12 inch EP.

KUOLEMANLAAKSO - ULJAS UUSI MAAILMA
Standard black vinyl, gatefold + large booklet. As they say, life will find its way. Named after one of the lowest, driest and hottest places on Earth, Kuolemanlaakso ("Death Valley") took its first breath in the Spring of 2010. The band originally started out as a one-man project of guitarist Laakso (Chaosweaver). Much influenced by 'Eparistera Daimones' of Triptykon, Laaksos mission was to create an utterly dark and heavy album, full of catchy hooks and originality: a tragically beautiful world all its own. The feedback from an unreleased four-song demo recording was so overwhelmingly positive from fellow musicians that Laakso decided to recruit some of them and thus make Kuolemanlaakso a fully operating five-head outfit. The band packed their bags in February 2012 and flew to Woodshed Studio, Germany, which is operated by none other than V. Santura of Triptykon and Dark Fortress fame. Santura not only co-produced, mixed, mastered and engineered the crushing debut album, 'Uljas Uusi Maailma' ("Brave New World"), but he also provided guest guitars on five tracks on it - upon his own request, as he liked the material so much. So, here it is, Kuolemanlaaksos first step into darkness, 'Uljas Uusi Maailma', for you to check out. Life has definitely found its way. A very, very dark and heavy way.

'OMENS' is MONARCH!'s sixth full-length release of atmospheric dirge/drone since their 2005 inception. The latest recordings also features newest member Rob Schaeffer (DARK CASTLE, YOB, etc.), along with guitarist Shiran Kaidine (YEAR OF NO LIGHT), bassist Michell Beidegain, and of course the ethereal, penetrating vocals of Emilie Bresson. On green vinyl, limited to 300 copies. Gatefold sleeve, plus insert and bonus tracks. Orne's debut album The Conjuration by the Fire, originally released in 2006, is already a revered cult classic. It's original vinyl version, alas, was a botched affair. Pressed directly from a CD master, it left much to be desired. The Svart reissue is a modest attempt to try and fix the situation. With a new vinyl master prepared by Joona Lukala / Noise For Fiction, the album is cut on three LP sides to give it more dynamics. As an added bonus on side D there's the original A Beginning three track demo, which led to the band being signed back in the day. The package also features a 8 page booklet with liner notes by band leader Kimi Krki (also of Reverend Bizarre / Lord Vicar fame). The LP set comes packaged in a copper foil stamped heavy gatefold jacket.

SOLSTAFIR - (CLEAR) MASTERPIECE OF BITTERNESS (2LP)

The result is not a new YEAR OF NO LIGHT album but a long new track (72 minutes) with YEAR OF NO LIGHT classic heavy riffs mixed with more experimental and drone tunes that can remind us their collaborative records with NADJA or THISQUIETARMY. Arabrot's self titled sixth album follows the Steve Albini-produced 'Solar Anus', which won the band a Norwegian Grammy. The album features a widened family of Arabrot-collaborators, most notably Emil Nikolaisen (Serena Maneesh) who in addition to recording and mixing the album, also plays bass. Norwegian experimental stalwarts Lasse Marhaug and Erland Dahlen also feature heavily. DIRTY TRICKS - DIRTY TRICKS
Dirty Tricks was a British blues-based hard rock band, which recorded three albums in the second half of the '70s. These albums were 'Dirty Tricks' (1975), 'Night Man' (1976) and 'Hit & Run' (1977). Dirty Tricks made its San Antonio debut at a Southside bar known as Randys Rodeo late in 1974, to rave reviews. It was there that they debuted songs from the upcoming album and finished the crowd off with an explosive version of the Kinks 'You Really Got Me', a year before Van Halen released their first album with that same song. The debut self-titled album was produced by Black Sabbath/Budgie/Judas Priest legend Rodger Bain.

GLACIERS - MIRRORED THROUGH THE ANCIENTS
California's instrumental heavy rock band Glaciers' 2013 full length reveals a heavier, moodier, more experimental and somewhat psychedelic sound. There is still plenty of melody, but more distortion, riffs, effects pedals, heavy drumming, heavy rock songs, and a much lower tuning can be heard. This edition is available on smoke (black/grey and clear) coloured vinyl, and it comes complete with full colour packaging, full colour insert and a digital download code.

Following a demo, which was so impressive that it appeared on vinyl through SF's Flenser Records, Oakland-based (via Sacramento) LYCUS deliver their official debut full length. The young band has crafted an incredibly mature album, instantly recognizable as among the top funeral doom/death releases of the past several years. One can hear echoes of Mournful Congregation, Asunder, My Dying Bride, even Pallbearer within their melancholic dirges and woefully heavy riffs. Kreator, Sodom, Living Death and even one-hit wonders such as Violent Force (Velbert) all came from working-class towns graced by bleak industrial buildings and mass unemployment. The same goes for Darkness. They formed on the spot on December 1st 1984 after a legendary gig at the Zeche Carl in Essen, where Destruction, Iron Angel and Tormentor, an early incarnation of Kreator, had been playing. They had everything: the name of the band, Darkness (Destroyer was an early alternative name), the concept, and the pseudonyms, namely Torturer (Lacky), Agony (Hartmut Schoner) and Skull (Andreas Becker). Darkness' first album Death Squad, originally released in 1987 on Tales of Thrash, a subsidiary label of GAMA, became an instant Teutonic thrash classic.

Both got together over a beer (or four) to form the band in Richmond VA in November 2008. The song writing leaned toward traditional Euro/US Metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The two friends were joined by drummer Barry Cover and vocalist Brent Hubbard (who was later replaced by Jack Bauer).

Black vinyl, ltd. to 300. Whited Sepulchres, Italian doom metal alchemist Paul Chain's 1991 album is also one of his most seldom heard. Released on Minotauro Records and barely distributed outside Italy, Whited Sepulchres is a cult item that demands rediscovery. Musically it mixes influences from Paul Chain's doom metal roots and esoteric themes with the kind of heavy psychedelic experimentation he later became known for. The Svart reissue is authorised and is a replica of the original issue, including two inserts.

DARKNESS (GERMANY) - DEATHSQUAD (COL)
350 x blue/ red blend vinyl, 425gsm heavy cardboard cover, lyric sheet, poster. There's no doubt about the fact that the Ruhr area was the birthplace of German thrash metal. Kreator, Sodom, Living Death and even one-hit wonders such as Violent Force (Velbert) all came from working-class towns graced by bleak industrial buildings and mass unemployment. The same goes for Darkness. They formed on the spot on December 1st 1984 after a legendary gig at the Zeche Carl in Essen, where Destruction, Iron Angel and Tormentor, an early incarnation of Kreator, had been playing. They had everything: the name of the band, Darkness (Destroyer was an early alternative name), the concept, and the pseudonyms, namely Torturer (Lacky), Agony (Hartmut Schoner) and Skull (Andreas Becker). Darkness' first album Death Squad, originally released in 1987 on Tales of Thrash, a subsidiary label of GAMA, became an instant Teutonic thrash classic.

With their first releases strongly influenced by NWOBHM, the joining of singer Messiah Marcolin took the band's sound towards heavier and more obscure pastures. Witchburner is the band's only album with the future Candlemass star on vocals, and it is also arguably their heaviest and most doom-influenced. Strongly recommended for anyone into classic 80's doom metal!

It's original vinyl version, alas, was a botched affair. Pressed directly from a CD master, it left much to be desired. The Svart reissue is a modest attempt to try and fix the situation. With a new vinyl master prepared by Joona Lukala / Noise For Fiction, the album is cut on three LP sides to give it more dynamics. As an added bonus on side D there's the original A Beginning three track demo, which led to the band being signed back in the day. The package also features a 8 page booklet with liner notes by band leader Kimi Krki (also of Reverend Bizarre / Lord Vicar fame). The LP set comes packaged in a copper foil stamped heavy gatefold jacket.

CHURCH OF MISERY was founded by Tatsu Mikami (bass guitar) back in 1995. After the breakup of his leading thrash metal band SALEM, a band that had toured in the UK several times and received critical acclaim from metal fans and press alike. Tatsu decided to start his own solo project. He wanted to do something that reflected his other musical inspirations - doom metal and doom rock. Apart from metal and thrash, he was strongly influenced by doom bands like SAINT VITUS, BLACK SABBATH and became aware that his own riffs had started to include doom vibes. In spite of this album's lack of vocal tracks, the concept of the album is clear. Unlike the drug-obsessed sludge of previous Bongripper-releases, this one is an ode to hardcore Satanism. The hypnotic beats and overtly devil-worshipping cover art and song titles more than let us know. Not only is this change in concept refreshing, it's pretty fucking cool. The songs on this album are slow, menacing, and fucking awesome, especially when combined with a fat sack of weed or (better yet) a refreshing bottle of DXM cough syrup.

DE NOVISSIMIS/WRECK OF THE HESPERUS - SPLIT 10"
LAST COPIES! The Dublin, Ireland doom metal scene is represented on this new 10", which features one massive track each from Wreck Of The Hesperus and De Novissimis, and just as we'd expect from a single piece of vinyl matching up these two bands, this is seriously heavy shit. Both of these bands are already known. Wreck Of The Hesperus through their excellent full-length on Aesthetic Death that came out a year or two ago, and De Novissimis through their CDR demo and a recent 7" that came out on Rimbaud. Both bands put their own spin on ultra-slow, noxious doom/sludge, and each side weighs down on you like a pallet of concrete blocks. Wreck Of The Hesperus are up first with "Raw Sewage Heart", a hideous splooge of blackened ultradoom that focuses on one monstrous riff wading through about ten minutes of buzzing feedback, garbled amplifier drone, and fithy low-end rumble. The riff is totally crushing, and the band plays at a sickeningly slow 10 bpm crawl with huge pauses between each crashing chord and pounding bass-drum hit, but it's the vocals that really make this as diseased and demonic as it is. You've got to wait awhile for 'em - the vocaltist doesn't show up until three or four minutes in, when the band is totally immersed in septic sludge - but when they finally kick in, it sounds like Regan from The Exorcist fronting Toadliquor, with multiple voices all coming out of the same throat at the same time, bestial death metal roars, psychotic cackles, weird slurping noises that sounds like someones chowing down on a plate of mashed potatoes. The drumming is also really cool, throwing in busy martial snare rhythms and rolls in between each suspended riff, and adding a coiled tension to their corrosive doom. Total slime! Contrasting Wreck Of The Hesperus's hellish descension with their own crusty nihilism, De Novissimis deliver a vicious track called "Worthy Of Nothing" for their side of this split, a near 10 minute blast of depressing, fatalist lyrics, long stretches of shimmering feedback, high pitched yowling vocals that trade off with deeper, more gutteral death metal style growls, and the expected glacial propulsion. The riffs are more atmospheric than you might expect though; slightly dissonant chords drift across the lumbering drumming, while another guitar plays a creepy minor key melody, and the song occasionally breaks away into total ambient drift where it's just the guitars chiming away and rumbling in space, only to crash back in a moment later into dense, droning, noisy ultradoom. Then all of a sudden from out of nowhere in the middle of the song, De Novissmis explode into furious blackened blasting, blastbeat drums and atonal grindcore whipped up into a violent sonic storm, and from there the song alternates between the plodding feedback-strewn blackdoom and epic murky crust, like Dystopia mixed with Grief, Christdriver and Khanate. BORROWED TIME - BORROWED TIME (BLACK)
Borrowed Time is a new metal band formed in Detroit, Michigan in 2010. J. Priest (vocals, keyboards), Matt Preston (guitars, keyboards), Victor Ruiz (guitars), Mark Kiseliovas (bass) and Sam Ceckowski (drums) issued a compilation of demos and live recordings entitled Arcane Metal Arts on High Roller Records. Their debut for the same label was the split 7" single Black Olympia with British act Wytch Hazel.

Corsair from Charlottesville, Virginia, give you just that. Formed in 2008, the band recorded and released their debut EP "Alpha Centauri" from 2010 all on their own. Now it will finally be made available through High Roller Records. Corsair consist of guitarists Marie Landragin and Paul Sebring, Jordan Brunk on bass and Aaron Lipscombe on drums, who all found together trough their love of good music. Marie, Paul and John used to put their talents together to play in Mass Sabbath, a tribute band that had made it a tradition to play Black Sabbath tunes on Halloween each year.

IN THE WOODS - STRANGE IN STEREO (2LP)

The year 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of the plague known as MORBOSIDAD. Since then, TOMAS STENCH, guided by his depraved impulses, has led Morbosidad in its revelry in all that is unholy. Although Morbosidad's catalogue is vast, this fourth album features some of the finest moments in the band's discography. Morbosidad continues with the savage sound achieved on the recent split releases with Pseudogod, Perversor, and Witchrist. Morbosidad has departed somewhat from the near-grindcore approach of the early albums, instead focusing and tightening the sound and this album is a culmination of that trajectory. The sharpened character of Morbosidad's music allows for a more potent effect and permits the songwriting to stand out without sacrificing the horrific bestiality of the songs.
