Because I don't really. The closest thing to power metal I actually like is Manowar, and that's more for the novelty factor than anything. I guess I just want to know if I'm really missing anything.

There's something about the modern power metal stuff that seems to miss the point. The original PM bands didn't play their stuff with one tongue in their cheek (at least in the beginning). Man, I really dislike irony in music.
