show your gear pics!

My humble musical abode :)

5150 on the left and Marshall DSL60 on the right. The one on top is an old Hughes & Kettner ATS120 - my first head. It's a hybrid kinda like the valvestate series and served me well until I upgraded to the 5150. It still works but now all it does is serve as a convenient stand for my rack stuff :p
Hopefully we'll be getting an Engl Powerball soon to join the club :)

Ok, I'm a little late to the game here. I really like all the pic's great stuff. I could look at this stuff for hours. Here is my setup and security system.

coldthrn: Looks weird... %) How did you figure out how to position these ... "objects". how much did they cost all in all? Are you also tracking anywhere near that room?

I'm not sure what your asking. Are you asking about the sound foam? If you notice this is a strange room and I'm still working on arranging the foam for the room. It is a converted attic. Tracking is done in another part of the same room.

yeah, the foam. i noticed it's a "strange" room of course, just wondering if you somehow calculated where to but the foam or just trail/error. tracking in the same room? loud, eai? ;)

It's a bit of trial / error and calculation. Obviously I have lots of corners that frequencies like to hid out in. I put a mirror on top of each monitor and point it so i can see each ear, then I step out of the "monitoring" position and see where the sound is going to hit the walls behind me.
That is where I have been putting most of the sound material. The other foam is just moved around till the imaging in the monitors start to "pop" out.

And yes it gets very LOUD with tracking drums.:ill:

Tornio...that has to be the best picture by far simply because of the captions. I thought I had read all of them until I looked again and saw 2.66euro on the table. HAHA.

Here's a few shots of some of my gear:

Control Room - The most important piece of gear. Built around a "Reflection Free Zone" concept by John Sayers. Tuned Hemholtz resonators, soffit mounted ASP-8's in a 30 degree monitoring setup, & hanging bass traps in the rear corners. I love this room.

My amps
e.jpg

Very cool old amp I had in my basement that I almost completely forgot about! It's a Traynor YBA-1 Bassmaster amp. Canadian built, originally for bass guitar, sounds damn fine with a six string, though. After doing some online research, the serial number puts it somewhere around 1967-68.

Notice the 2 prong extension power outlet. Gotta put a proper grounded power line on this bad boy.

Still has the original GE tubes.

My pride & joy: A 1988 29-fret Washburn. Rarely leaves the case these days.

Testing out that strobe kit on my Hellraiser.

My Ibanez (gasp!) 5 string bass with lowest string removed. The dude was used to 4. This bass has wound up on more records than I care to remember.

My Ibanez has Gibson burstbucker pros. The stock pickups were crap, this is obviously not a pic of my guitar, this is the one I have though.

The B-52 head isn't mine but the rest o dat shizzle is what I rock.

Sorry to bump up such an old thread, but just wanted to see what people would think about stickying a "my gear" thread? It could be this or a completely new thread. We've had some discussion about this here

Should we perhaps make a new "your gear pics" thread where people could put new/updated pics of their gear and see if it would enough attention to be stickied.

Opinions? or am I the only one who cares this much about these pics?

That's fuckin' gnarly Loren, glad to see you got those BX8a's on some stands and Mopads! And christ, how many bass traps/broadband absorbers is that in total? You might wanna consider repurposing some of 'em to cover those tri-corner spots (where the two walls and ceiling meet), cuz I notice you don't have anything there now, and that's apparently an especially big problem spot
