Hey dudes. Just released this!

Fender J-bass sampled by myself for metal, processed by Ryan Harvey (of Catharsis), Seth Munson and David Voll. Kontakt 4 instrument.

If you want Nigel-esque tone and don't want to buy a UAD card, Seth's ZomBass tones are processed with Nigel.

Sounds like:

I heard the clip on the Joey forum and I'm impressed, but how does it sound with fast 16th/32nd notes is what I'm wondering?

Pretty cool. Last question is, is it multi-sampled as far as velocities? Or just multiple samples of the same velocity?

:Spin: tell me this comes with wavs so I can buy it right now!

You can export the .wavs from the Kontakt files! LOL. I can get you the .wavs my friend. Just toss me an e-mail at Alex@SignalsAudio.com and I'll export them and upload them to my FTP for ya.

It is a single velocity layer (but Kontakt will obviously change that sample's volume based on midi velocity), 10 samples per note (with about 20 seconds of sustain each) the reason for no multi layer velocity isn't because I'm lazy, it's firstly because the download would get exponentially bigger, secondly because metal doesn't commonly use lightly played bass, and thirdly because bass is generally buried and you can get away with Kontakt simply turning the volume down. I wouldn't attempt a bass solo with it. :)

Here's an update on this project I'm tracking using ZomBass! Not done editing - obvious glitches.

I believe Kontakt is supposed to be backwards compatible, I'll refund you via PayPal if it doesn't work.

Being backwards compatible would be like Kontakt 5 being able to load instruments from a previous version like Kontakt 4, which I don't even think is true.

He's asking if the free kontakt player, not the full version of the kontakt sampler, can run the instrument you made, and I'm pretty sure the answer is that it can't.

The Kontakt player is for officially licensed NI libraries. It costs money to do this. That's why Joey's samples require the full version of Kontakt. Some people on this forum might not realize that due to never trying the free player and jumping straight to the pirated full version of kontakt. haha

thats why you load another instrument while you are programming it and then when it comes time to bounce when you are finished with bass, then load this in. Demo mode in kontakt doesnt hinder anything aside from timing out in 10 minutes or whatever it does.
