1029. I don't agree... Projecter is a great beginner CD

1030. and ThereIn a great beginner-song if you're not a heavydeathdoomblack metal-fan and more like:" Yeah, I dig metal " ( a beginner )

1031 Lost to Apathy is the worst beginenr song ever.

1032. I don't agree with you either. I love DT but I don't like most of the Projector songs (yes you Projector-lovers, stone me). I started with Haven and I think it was a good beginner CD for me.

Actually IMO Projector is the worst choice in order to begin to listen to DT. Don't get me wrong if you understood that I think that I hate the Projector album, quite the contary, it is my favourite album of DT. Yet I think it is not a very good album to strat with, since it does not have many gutural vocals, and most DT albums have that.

Meaning that, maybe a person likes DT because he/she heard the Projector album, but when listening to other DT she/he wouldn't like it because of the gutural vocals (if it's the case that she doesn't listen to metal that has that type of vocals).

IMO with every band you should always listen to the albums in the order they were released, since it shows how the band has improved or gotten worse.

I also think Lost to Apathy is a good beginner song, since it's a very DT song. I think it represents their style quite a lot.

Actually, my best friend listens to punk/emo/hardcore/metal, and he really got into DT, and the first song he heard was, like he says it, "The Lost the Apathy" (he never says it the right way LOL).

I completely agree with you. It happened that the first DT album I heard was Projector, and i was crazy for it, but then I listened to the others and I got a different idea of what their style is, with much more gutural vocals. But anyway the melodies are awsome, so if one's doesn't like the vocals,he can easly get over it and enjoy the music.

Absolutely. I think BP started a much better way, with Haven. Projector is an excellent album, but it requires a bit more experienced listener, with regard to DT and their stuff. I started with Void of Tranquillity. On the other hand, Projector was a shock for most of the DT fans. It came out after The Minds I, which couldnt be more melo-gothenburg-death, so it was like a kick in the balls. I had a hard time getting used to it, but now I love it.

Not really - any album can catch your attention and then you begin discovering the bands past releases (like I did with Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Sepultura after WWII when I was 17 :D ).

Absolutely not. But you are right in a way. A lot of new fans of DT (Im not saying that you are one, you just reminded me of something) think the last two albums are teh DTiest. I have a problem with that, because Ive known them for much longer, and I simply dont think so.

BP? Yeah, I agree, Projector was/is quite a shock. I love it too :p .

True ture, but what I meant is that IMO tis better to listen them in order of release. For example, if you start listening to COB, and you start AYDY?, and if it's the case you like goodmetal, you won't like at all but won't bother listening to the other records because you heard AYDY? first.

True, true, I have to agrre with you on that. Forgive me  .
