inspired by my digressions & reflections on sim city in the "fuck you america and your perfect geometry" thread
who else loves sim city! i used to be a huge fanboy of the entire "sim" series back when i was 10-13 or something and i still think sc2000 is one of the best games ever! brilliant stuff!
my favourites are probably sc2000 and sc3000 is really cool too, but also sim city 1 for SNES (brilliant, much better than the PC version)
sim city 4 was kinda cool but i haven't played it much!

Sim city 3000 seemed to be a bit of a demo for sim city 4. While good, they still had alot of things to work out. I played it the least. 4 is another beast all together. It is much more complex now, in every aspect of the game. The terrain part alone is insane. You can get a scale satellite image of a region from above and put them in the game. (i can get a layout thats pretty much the map of the bronx and just build from there, quite cool) I'ts mind boggling what people come up with in terms of creations for the game. It's alot more online based as well, you can download pretty much anything imagineable. The terrain different waters, foliage, landforms , streets, buildings, architecture, etc... notice how cool:
