Singer

I think JOhn Bush is definitely a good singer for now and the future considering that he does'nt try and reach all those kind of sounds of sounds joey made, you know, when he sounded so high pitched that it semed he had just ben kicked in the nuts!!!
Joey was a fine singer indeed but there comes a time when bands have to change and move on. Bush helped Anthrax move on and create that original sound that they have now.

I thought Chuck D added the most versatility to the vocals...

Seriously, the band was cool with Joey, but they are awesome with John. I would absolutely love to hear studio versions of old tunes done with John singing, just to see what it would sound like...

Bush all the way. I liked Joey a lot back in the day but his voice just wouldn't cut it today. I'd love to hear some studio recordings of Bush singing some STD or ATL songs. I'm sure I never will but it'd be awsome.

I could see it happening...after all, on Attack of the Killer B's they included "covers of songs that we wrote" by playing SOD tracks...why couldn't they rerelease an ATL song with pumped up guitar and John on vocals, even just as a b-side. That would absolutely rock.

I'd have to disagree with you there...I mean sure, it's a matter of opinion, and we're all entitled to our own, but in my opinion, Joey was the weakest link before, and now they are a perfect ensemble. While Joey had a wider vocal range than John, I found his wail had a tendancy to sometimes sound off-key in some songs, especially live, sometimes making me wince despite an otherwise great song. I also think John's vocals are much better suited a style of music this heavy.

* he looked cool all decked out in shining armor in the Armored Saint home video A Trip Thru Red Times as he sings "March of the Saint, oh yeah, he also jousts someone to death.*

ps- seriously, I always thought the Lewis jersey was a nice tribute, since that kid just died all of the sudden way back when.

Jeesh, I spose I'll have to zip up the saint video and email that to you too ;) (it's long outta print, but copies to turn up on ebay, it'll prolly be re-issued on DVD sometime too.)

The jersey I am referring to is the #35 Boston Celtic jersey that Bush has been sporting for years......... Lewis was one of the young guys the Celtics picked up in the late 80's/early 90's (along w/ Rick Fox and Brian Shaw among others) who were supposed to take over for the club when the legends Bird, Mchale, and Parish finally retired. Lewis was in a game, against the Bulls I believe, in fact I think he was guarding Jordan, in like 95, anyway, he asked the coach to sit him down, because he felt dizzy and what not. He died the next day, bad heart. many people figure he was doing cocaine. It was a sad story. Fox left for the Lakers, Shaw bailed out for Orlando (and now plays for the Lakers) and the Celtics are just now getting back to the playoffs.

Woo-hoo!! Someday, Ty is gonna fill up my email with some great stuff!! :muahaha:

I'm not a basketball fan, so I would never have known that. (I did see him in a Suns jersey back when he had long hair though, guess that is something). Your retention of information no one else knows about also redeems your hero status, as that is what made you that in the first place.

Yeah that is me, what can I say, I have no life......I can however make the most trivial events (like a night of drinking beer w/ fellow loser friends playing shuffleboard at some dive) seem like a barrel load of fun on this board...

p.s: I seem to remember Bush sporting all sorts of different NBA jerseys when the band was touring for SoWN. Barkley (suns), Mullin, Lewis, and others. He is a big NBA nut. I've been a Lakers fan for a long, long, time. For 2 reasons initially, Fletch was a Lakers fan, and my seestor hated them.
