Single Most Powerful moment in an Opeth song

Godhead's Lament, first solo, followed by 'Searching my way...'

agreed.

here are some other epic opeth moments:

Face of melinda: the distortion climax part
moonlapse vertigo: second part of the intro
bleak: the whole acoustic part up until the distortion climax part.
dirge for november: intro.
dirge for november: outro.
the moor: intro.
to rid the disease: the outro chord progression part.

SICK LIAISONS RAISED THIS MONUMENTAL MAAAARK - THE SUN SETS FOREVER OVER BLACK WATER PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK

April Ethereal

The rain was waving goodbye, and when the night came
The forest folded it's branches around me.
Something passed by, and I went into a dream.
She laughing and weeping at once: "TAKE ME AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY".

Well it's cool to talk about things you like I just perceived the point of the thread to have something to do with these little instances in music that just blow you away rather than just another fav riff thread.

The first acoustic passage in Heir Apparent is just so ominous and foreboding.

I'm also particularly fond of the opening chord in Baying of the Hounds. It's absolutely crushing pretty much foreshadows the badassery that is to follow.

Outside in the park
The days move along
And nothing ever changes

They have nothing on us
And we've always knew
That nothing ever changes
