These asshats need to release this shit on cd and/or vinyl.

This album forced me to run out and buy a pack of cd-r for the first time in years. So how do you burn cds again?!? :loco:

Fuck cassettes

Fuck listening to music over shitty pc speakers.

On Topic: Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl lacks the dramatic overtones of The Machine Girl. Is that meant to be a comedy?!? If so, that takes away the punchline. As foolish as it may appear, I actually believe that Machine Girl wants to fuck those Yakuza up.

The Machine Girl definitely has a much more "higher quality" to it... but VG vs FG, from what I've read their goal was to make the worst movie they could. I'm personally looking forward to it.

i'll have to check out this Skagos ... jerry re-up por favor ... just because the new Wolves after a spin in the car today just clicked. that twitchy drummer has some cool ass beats on this disc that did it for me.

also, wasn't Planet Terror the same shit with chicks with machine gun arms?

planet terror has rose mcgowan with a machine gun leg. planet terror is also much higher quality film posing as trash, where as these jap-gore are pretty much straight up trash. which i also love.

The glorious breath of flame keeps the blood from freezing.
The earth is suffocating within the ice, in a deep, cold sleep, with dreams of finality.
The freezing moon washes the world azure,
with the fog, the endless fog,
and the world grows fucking silent...
:worship:notworthy:worship:

Beautiful, except for the "fucking" part. Vulgarity is completely unnecessary for a work of art of this magnitude.

Hey guys, it's Ray, from Skagos. Someone on your board requested that I join in on the banter, so here I am. Colossal post, commencing:
Skagos >> Wolves
Hahah, I find this humorous. Thank you very much for the praise, and the opinion is valid, but it's such an odd compliment to receive... In no way do I worship Wolves, but they certainly opened a lot of doors for us...
These asshats need to release this shit on cd and/or vinyl.
Fuck cassettes
Hail Analog. Hail Cascadia.
On a more serious note, though, we are working on this. I, personally, love cassettes but I understand that not everyone does. Himmelszelt was originally meant to be released on CD, but we had something like 6 labels bail on us. It was absolutely nuts. Eventually, Paul from Leech sent me an Email saying, "Hey, we'll release this on Woodsmoke." and thus...

If anyone here runs a cool record label, absolutely everything is ready for release with the Himmelszelt CD. Both Tomhet and Skagos have bonus tracks for the CD edition and all the art has been ready for over a year now...
Just sayin'...

I am massive complimented that you actually went through the trouble of buying CDrs just for little ol' us. But, fear not, your woes will be resolved soon enough. Ást is being released in a first run of 500 units by NHR in September or something, in it's complete version. The tape version and all the uploads are in a semi-final mix, also with a few sound samples missing. As for vinyl, we have a split 12" coming out with Wake very soon, Ást will be released on Double Vinyl soon enough (we so far have three labels lined up to work together to get this out... are you interested?) as well as a 12" next year. Also, split CD with Panopticon and Throndt. And finally, our grandest undertaking yet... a second full-length to be unveiled next year.

Also, the "On Topic" comment gave me a big laugh.

Ah, I'm glad you've shared these works. I only hope people will support the labels who released them! I wonder if our demo will ever end up for download... that'd be interesting. Maybe I'll release it on some bonus-disc in the future.

As for the "vulgarity," I usually completely agree with you. For this, however, that is how my phrasing needed to be expressed. Ást details the journey from late Summer in to the deep cold of Winter, ending upon the Winter Solstice. Isaac and I wrote each song as the 6-months or so progressed. By the time we reached Caliginosity, I was feeling hugely... subdued. My bones ached for spring, my spirit was sodden, my endurance was running low. Here on Vancouver Island, we had an insanely foggy and cold winter, and it left you feeling very dead, barren and alone. By the Solstice, the world had truly grown fucking silent. I am sorry if the vulgarity ruins your respect for the craft, but it simply is as it is. 'Nuf said. (hah)

If anyone has any other questions, ask away. Consider this a linear interview.

Thanks for posting here, but my point was that I think you pushed the boundary further than wolves ever did. I can hear the influence, but another point to be made is that your music is an organic type of black metal (which wolves plays), but you do it in a way that is much more enthusiastic/emotional to my ears.

Fucking cheers for the great music. This is the type of stuff I love to hear. There are places I'd like you guys to improve like some of the song writing becomes slightly stagnant, but I think when you come together as a band it will work out. I can't really put my finger on it, but it sometimes seems like you care a bit too much about atmosphere than song writing. In my opinion, it needs to be a great balance (if you disagree, fair enough, but whatever)

Glad to hear some confirmation on CD/Vinyl versions of the Full Length and Split, thanks Ray, and welcome to RC!

I recall you briefly mentioning on the forever doomed forums that getting a lineup for Skagos to play live has been rough. Are there any plans to try and get something together in the near future? Also, would you be willing to elaborate on what Kamlaniye is (particularly if there is any relation to Skagos, or an entirely separate entity)? If you are reluctant, no worries.

Yeah, I can understand these sentiments. The stuff we are working on now is a lot less ridiculously-ambient and yes, with less ecclesiastic focus on "atmosphere." But, of course, we could never leave those sentiments behind. I suppose all I can say to you is, your sentiments reflect our thoughts and you'll just have to see for yourself, in the future.

Ahh, yes, so you're a D.F.F.D. goer.
Thank you for the welcome and it's a pleasure to "meet" you all.

Yes, a dark and malicious curse looms atop Skagos, like coming storms over seaboard mountains... We've tried many times to put together a live lineup, but it always falls apart. I almost feel like it is some universal force pushing Isaac and I away from a "false destiny." Skagos is the pure essence of Isaac and I coming together to create music. Whenever we fully involve others, it seems to crash and burn. We work as one mind, while others can't seem to fit in this niche. but, with that said, we may have a 3rd pseudo-member making an appearance in the coming months...

As for Kamlaniye, I can tell you only what need be known. We wish for it to stay off of the Digital realm, forever. We may do some recordings down the road, but that is not our focus. Kamlaniye is merely the "live counterpart" of Skagos, in a sense, without betraying the original vision. It is Isaac, Myself, a drummer and an acoustic guitar player writing music for live performance. It's a very odd sound, I wish you could hear it. Kamlaniye will be doing 5 live shows in the month of June, 3 of which will be with the unquenchable elders of Apocalyptic Atavism, Fauna.

Kamlaniye as a simple word translates to an ancient Siberian healing ritual, wherein the Shaaman would use his voice to drone constantly for many days, starving himself and removing dark spirits from his people. Kamlaniye is the cleansing of our conscious through esoteric ritual.

Greetings Ray, I'm the one who cordially invited you to the pinkest part of the intarweb.

In regards to your three way split with Throndt, and Panopticoon... this Kentucky bred abortion is not well liked around these parts. It's a shame that a black metal act of your quality is sharing a piece of artistic pie with a politically correct punk rock transplant delilah. Take that mosh until you drop, anti-establishment, CO-EXIST, bullshit elsewhere before the hooves of the lynch mob come galloping over the ravines of the Tennessee Valley.

Ahem, greetings once again.

Yeah, I did notice the hate on Panopticon. It's actually quite interesting how misinterpreted he is. He's a very intelligent, well read and well thought-out man. I believe that you guys are mistaking "oioi up da ponx, anarchy in the US of A" with the very, very deep ideals of Anarcho-Primitivism. As for his location, that is never viable reason to assume that a band sucks... unless they are from California. Then they probably suck. But regardless, your opinion is your own and I don't think any less of any of you for it.

But, if it gives you some peace at night, the split is merely proposed. Nothing will be in motion for a few months time.

Or you model your music note by note after WitTR, conjure up a contrived ethos that is unfeasible to live by, throw out blanket statements against bands you're unfamiliar with, sport an Anders Friden hairdo, misspell every other word on your kvlt myspace blog, insincerely leech themes which you have no cultural connection towards in hopes of an opening spot on Paganfest III, etfuckingcetera. Go Odin Woot Woot!

Matt, I don't know what burgeoned your attenuated posts of animosity against me. I'm not a fool, I can clearly decipher the various times you have affronted me on this board this week. Being the man that I am, I sent you a pm in an attempt to hash things over, under the assumption that you're a grown adult with a modicum of maturity. Your failed response only validates my supposition. So with that being the case, fuck you friend.

My cynicism & racism is a by-product of my environment. You don't like it? Scram back to Berkeley.
