SKYRIM!

Tip for anyone struggling to get a decent fps on older graphics cards,
you can manually set the resoulution by editing the SkyrimPrefs.ini file under /_user_/MyDocuments/mygames/Skyrim.

Mine works very nicely when set to 800x600

look for the lines:

iSize H=xxx
iSize W=xxx

(where xxx is the resolution figures you want to use).

Why don't you do it with the launcher? you can set resolution there.
or are we talking about something different than screen resolution?

My point being that the launcher only allows for resolutions down to about 1024xSomething, which is still a bit too much for a decent, smooth fps.

Just letting everyone know that it is possible to set the resolution to any arbitrary value from the SkyrimPrefs file :)

My launcher does go down to 800x600 man - not to diminish the usefullness of the tip or anything but maybe it's just your pc being funny.

Finally got that full Daedric set. Also ditched the Lover blessing in favor of Lord. Character is now at 80% magic resistance, passively. Around 770 armor rating. After grabbing the 'Atronach' perk he should be invincible to casters.

Shame Mehrune's Razor kinda sucks... was expecting better!

well i can live with some minor bugs, but shit bugs that prevent me from completeing a quest, dwarven amillary FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

guess, that's it for me, can't proceed. i tried to skip the quest using the
console but i only found a command that kinda skips the whole game -.-

any ideas?

there's a console command something along the lines of 'setstage', I can't remember atm. It basically changes your progression along a specific quest. I had to use it for the Thieves' Guild once,

Without spoilers (although everyone here seems to be pretty far into the game), which quest are you stuck on? There are definitely ways to end each quest via the console, you just have to find the correct setstage command.

Every goddamn Bethesda game has bugs, we must live with them that's it.
It was since the first elder scroll, maybe even before! (terminator franchise games).
Usually with console commands you can complete quests!
I hope the bug you're mentioning is not happening to everyone.

Really enjoying the atmosphere in this game. Something about the way the visuals and score work together is really surreal...

Can't wait for the 4-disk OST to arrive in the mail...

Word! The atmosphere is spot on.

I really feel the solitude and fear when walking all alone on an epic snowy mountain waiting for my next enemy to appear. It remembers me of playing Dungeon Keeper back in 1998.

i was initially a little disappointed with the score in the game, but it grew on me quickly. the music is surprisingly versatile and does fit in the general feel as well as the twists and turns of the plot.
